Video 'failed to encode'
Hi HELP!
I am a school teacher trying to get things sorted for our new way of learning and have recorded all these videos (mp4 format) that will upload, then after 10 minutes of encoding...it simply states 'failed to encode'. This is soooo fustrating since I begged the school to pay for the PRO version, and now it is not working!!!?!!!

Hi
I am having the same problem too. In fact ALL my video content dotted around my website all within size limit, all MP4, now have an unhappy face overlaid on them and do not work. I've tried new files, but they are all failing to encode. This is a serious problem for my site which requires video and audio content and has so far worked fairly well, at least no problems uploading and encoding, though videos on replay sometimes kept stopping and re-loading ..also very frustrating.
Any answers please...urgent as my site has just gone public and will have to take it offline!!

I am having the same issue this week. Last week, no problems. This week, nothing is encoding. All are failing. I even tried removing a video that had uploaded and encoded just fine before and tried to re-upload it to make sure it wasn't an issue with my files, and it also failed to encode. This is something wrong on Weebly's side.
Weebly, what's up? Any response?

I'm very sorry for the frustration. Our engineers believe they have deployed a fix as of last night. Can everyone please check to see if your videos are uploading properly now? Thanks in advance!

I am having this very problem now in 2021! Started last week. Could not upload a video last Sunday. Same problem today; 'failed to encode'. We have not done anything differently, have been uploading videos all last year, but all of a sudden am now having this problem. Help!

Can you try re-encoding your video in a different format, @MKruger, or as a different size?

I am also trying re upload videos that worked fine last week, but now will not finish loading. I am constantly getting 'failed to embed" message on every single one I have tried. I have a deadline today that must have videos uploaded, so am starting to panic. Can anyone tell me what Weebly is doing to fix this issue?

I am on day 3 now of videos not encoding. My videos are all optimized thru Handbrake, as you suggested, I have tried different interent browsers, and tried both MOV and MP4 format. Nothing is working, and this is now work that is overdue and impacting my business. I would like to know when this will be fixed.

I am having the same issue. Been trying to upload a vdeo for the past 2 days. It says 'Video is in the encoding queue for hours and then eventually fails to upload. I also have students who are relying on the Weebly for home learning during lockdown. Please fix asap

Hello,
Yesterday I again had two videos fail to encode after repeated uploads. Following "community" suggestions, I tried changing the file names and an app that converted them to a different format and back to mp4, but no luck. I am a pro user and have been uploading and encoding videos for months using the same techniques without issues. Any suggestions on what else I can do or idea when this issue will be resolved?

Did you use the Handbrake one, by chance? I know that is one that the support reps refer to often. The only other thing I can suggest is to delete the current video element you have been trying to upload, and add a brand new one instead. If you are still having trouble uploading, please reach out to our support team here. A rep can check with advanced support to see if there's any known issues affecting the account.

Having same problem now in July 2021. Am trying to upload an extremely short (2-second-long, 2.76 MB) mp4 video clip on Safari. I work for a nonprofit and we have Weebly pro. The clip uploads but I keep getting the "failed to encode" error message. I removed all spaces from the file name; also tried copying it to a new folder and uploading from there, but it still won't encode. Advice?

I don't believe there are any current issues with video uploads at this time, @Chaya
Can you try using a different browser in private or incognito mode to make sure you are not running into a cache issue?
