Hey there! It sounds like you're referring to the blog options in the editor. Those won't be appearing on the live site, however.

My published blog page, https://canwegetitright.weebly.com/blog, has a toolbar (or menu) at the top that I don't think should be there. It has the following: home, services, about, news, contact, can we get it right, blog, blog. How do I get rid of that?

That navigation menu is generated from the pages of your site. If you don't want those other pages listed you can either delete the pages or just hide them from your navigation. You can find an option for each when you click on a page on the Pages tab.

Thanks, Adam. That worked. Firefox crashed twice in the process in addition to the usual Google api script errors but I cleared that menu at the top.

Since the Pages drop down menu is completely illegible I didn't know what was there. I had discovered by trial and error that I could use one of those links to create a blog post. But now that is not available. So how do I start a new blog post without bringing back the menu on the posted page?

If you click on Pages at the top of the editor you will see a list of all of your pages on the left hand side. You're looking for one with a little comment icon next to it. That small icon means it is a blog page and you can add the new post from the bottom right.
