The most irritating aspect of Weebly - by a very long way
I've raised this aspect with Weebly in the past and unlike other suggestions absolutely nothing has happened about it - so I'm highlighting it again here.
Mainly because I need to cool down - because it has happened yet again! Not once but TWICE in the last half hour.
Would somebody from Weebly please explain to me why this site requires you to click outside the page you are working on after you have written in a text module so that it "takes" and stays - as opposed to TOTALLY DISAPPEARS - before you move on to the next one.
I've worked on real time webware products for more than 10 years and NOTHING irritates as much as Weebly in terms of the capacity to lose some carefully crafted words.
What's more no other webware I know loses text as quickly and forever as Weebly (eg Blogger's "undo" button actually works and gets it back again!)
I don't like writing outside Weebly and then copying the text in. It's not efficient. Or rather it isn't until you look at how much time you have just wasted because yet again an inadvertent click in the wrong place means all those words you've just written have gone for good.
I wouldn't mind if the "undo" button actually worked when this happens but it doesn't.
So when is real time editing actually going to become just that? Real time edits which stay put and don't disappear.....
Alternatively when is the undo button going to start working - and actually retrieve those words you've just crafted?
(Don't tell me they can't be retrieved because you haven't yet saved - because it works in other webware - so why not in Weebly?)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, @makingamark. Clicking outside of a text element essentially tells the editor, "hey, I'm done typing so you can save what I've done". Text is saved to an extent while editing so that the Undo button has something to go back to, but it's only stored as long as you're editing the element. Once you click out of the element, text is saved in its current state and undo history is removed.

Adam - you really didn't need to explain what I already know. You are also NOT addressing the PROBLEM.
The issue is that your software creates incredibly frustrating experiences which are not encountered elsewhere.
So my questions - to which I would appreciate answers - are:
- when is Weebly going to recognise how irritating this and
- when is Weebly going to at least fix the "undo" button so that text which disappears comes back again?

It would be so much more helpful if instead of sending a "no-reply" message asking if I had read your reply, that you
- read my response to your reply on the message thread before sending such messages
- actually addressed the issue
- didn't send message from a no-reply email. Since you obviously did not read the earlier response (or else you wouldn't have sent the note) I'm guessing you won;t read this one either

Sorry about that, - that's an automated email that just goes out under certain criteria with a thread, and isn't a reflection of the content of the thread itself. Regarding your previous post, the "undo" button on the text editor does work, although it only remembers changes while you're editing the element. If you click away your changes are saved and previous edits are no longer stored.
