Slideshow on Mobile Version

Hello Community,

the slideshow element will not display on the mobile version of my website.

The website-editor displays the slideshow in the mobile preview, yet when I access the mobile site with a Galaxy S4 or S5 the space remains blank.

Is this a common issue with Weebly, or Android devices?

Thanks for your input in advance!

Best

Oliver

I'm having the same issue.  I haven't updated the slideshow in about 6 months, for what it's worth.

By the way, I'm seeing the issue on iPhone5 running iOS8 on safari and chrome.  When on desktop chrome in developer mode, emulated as a mobile device includeing iPhone5, it loads fine.

Hi Erin,

The slideshows on our site are not showing up on mobiles or in the mobile editor, except the title slideshow.  How can I rectify this?

Thanks,

Ruth

What's the address of the site you're having trouble with, Ruth? I'll take a look.

Hey Erin,

thanks indeed for the quick reply.

The exact domain is http://www.candid-rhetorics.de/impulsvortraumlge.html

Again: the slideshow is visible when visiting the site on a laptop, yet not when accessed in mobile mode.

Thank you for looking into the matter.

Hi, Oliver.

I see that you have a customized theme. There may be some code in your changes that are overriding the mobile view of this gallery. Please try making a copy of your site and reverting the theme back to its original state. Let me know if you can see the gallery on your mobile device with your site copy.

Thanks,

Erin

Thanks again for your reply, Erin!

Can you link to a quick tutorial on how to do that?

Sure!

Here is the instructions for copying your site: https://hc.weebly.com/hc/en-us/articles/201505746-Can-I-Copy-a-Site-

Once you've made the copy, use any generic subdomain. Visit the theme tab, and change your theme back to the theme you originally started with. If you aren't sure which theme you used originally, just choose any theme. We're trying to determine if the custom code is overriding the gallery on mobile, so switching to any original Weebly theme should be able to tell us.

Thanks,
Erin

I have been having a similar problem.  Individual photos and gallerys seem to show OK, but Slideshows just don't appear.

This is on

debkeir.weebly.com

and

moondance-barge.weebly.com

Thanks

Deborah

Hello Deborah!

It looks like you're using some particularly old themes. You may want to consider updating to a newer theme with responsive coding, as that could sidestep the issue entirely. If that isn't an option, however, just let us know the page you're seeing this issue crop up on, and we'll check it out here.

Hi, I am also having this problem. This is the first time I am using the slideshow, and when I shared my blog post to Facebook and then clicked on the link through the mobile FB app on my Ipad, the slideshow does not appear at all. Thanks for looking into this!

I see what you're saying, @BrandyMichelle. I wonder if this is a problem with the older theme you're using. Are you partial to the theme? I think it might display fine with one of our newer responsive themes.

Hi Adam,

I am not partial necessarily but I suspect a theme change would require more maintenance than I have time to do right now. Would rather not, but if that is the only option... perhaps I will look into it.

I'm having this same problem now on my site motorshoweast.com. It works on desktop but not on mobile. I'm using the Unite2 theme. Thanks for any help.

Are you referring to the video background of your header, @kerrecoe01? Those don't play on mobile devices because of cellular data usage concerns.
