Non-responsive Header Title

Hello

I am using the Birdseye 2 Portfolio theme.  However the Header title isn't responding to mobile view.  What I mean is that the title text is not shrinking to fit into mobile view - with one word breaking onto another like.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks so much.

Helen

Try doing something like this, @HelenB1:

1. Add the Hide app to your site: https://www.weebly.com/app-center/hide

2. Add two hide elements to your header

3. Add your current headline text to one of them, and set the hide element to only display on wider screens

4. Add a separate title or text element to the other hide element with the same headline text in it

5. Set this element to only display on mobile

This will let you style the text for mobile separately without effecting what shows on desktop.

Thank you so much Adam. I will give it a try this evening after work and let you know how I go.

With much appreciation, Helen.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you - but your solution worked a treat.

Thank you.

I have another question but I don't know if it needs to be posted separately? I am new to this.

I would like to add a banner picture attribution (caption) directly under my banner picture. Is there any way of doing this - or changing the spacing under the banner pic so it sits like a caption?

Let me know if I should be posting this as a new comment.

Best regards

Helen

Which site did you want to do this with, and with which image?

sorry for the delay in responding Adam.  www.kangaroomatters.org, with the header banner.

I've unpublished the site until I fix responsive spacing issues - should I publish it so you can see it?

Thank you

Helen

It's ok, I can look at it in the editor. It's probably simplest to add a text element to the content area underneath it and use another little style override. If this were a newer theme that supported sections you would be able to add a text element right on top of the image.

Thanks Adam. I am using sections in the site - but haven't been successful in changing the padding of the banner header image padding so it extends down to the edge of the banner image where I would put the caption.

By the way - I have no idea what I'm doing!

What "Style Override" would I use? I've tried changing the padding in the css files of the site with no success.  Please let me know if I can give you editing access to the site.

Sorry for the delay in responding - I work away alot.
