Change background colour of a title box or text box

Does anyone know how I can change the background colour of a text box or title box?  All the articles I have seen on this are outdated and hard to match to the current version of weebly.

Hello, @CM_2897!

We now offer this feature in our app store. Check out the color block here: https://www.weebly.com/app-center/color-block

Simply, drag the app over to your page after installing. Then drag any other elements on top of it. You can alter the background color, transparency and edges.

Hi! You could do this by simply adding this code by using the weebly's embed code:

<h2 class="wsite-content-title" style="text-align:center; padding: 20px;background: rgba(0,0,0,0.7);"><!--- I added the CSS file in html code itself so you won't be doing much more --->
<font size="7"><!-- Change the number to change the size of the text --->
<font color="#ffffff"><!-- Change the hex color to change the color --->
<strong>Your text</strong><!-- Edit your text --->
</font><!--- End font --->
</h2><!--- end h2 --->

Thanks RevillaDesigns,

I had a look at your website. I'd like to get the wide colored band (from left to right of the screen), and so far have been unable to find a way in the ready-made weebly features. Have you built yours from HTML coding?

Hi @OlivierB! Thanks and I would like to tell you that I custom built it using html and css with weebly's "Edit html/css" feature which is accessible in the design tab and the rest I built everything with the drag and drop feature
By the way, if you would like to have sections in your website, just tell so I could help you

Thanks for this - I have gone with Colour Box app, but I am going to keep this to try out on other sections of my site.

This was great, I was able to implement this into my website, but is there a way to italicize the fonts?

I note the color-block app has been removed from the app store. Maybe there was an issue with it? What's the easiest way to simply get a solid color background for my <h2 class="wsite-content-title"> ?

The color block seemed good, but I did notice it used font tags which is crazy and break in IE. So it wasn't coded very well, but that's the effect I'd like. Anything else I can use? Trying to avoid custom code due to laziness.

Hi there. I'm pretty sure you've posted on some other threads, but can you also post your url on this thread as well just in case someone comes across it? Thanks!

Hi,

I have added the colour block to http://nigelynguestcottage.weebly.com.  I dragged the app to where I wanted to change the colour on my Landing Page.  I was unsuccessful.

I am using Ubuntu 16.04 and Mozilla Firefox 48.0

How do I add it to my Designer Sites? It seems to only list "My Sites" as an option to add.

Thank you

Hello,

I've tried to downoad the call out box and color box but I get the message that my user ID is not allowed to download the app. I spoke to my admin and they said that I should have access. Any idea what I need to do? Thanks.

Hi Paul. Your account is an Education account and it does not have access to the app center. You can still use the Embed Code element to display code on your site, though. Does the app maker offer an embed option?

How can I use this app when I use Weebly via MyDomain.com?

If you're using Weebly through a third party host, you won't be able to use the app right now unfortunately. Sorry!

Bummer!

Can I use the "regular" Weebly service and publish to my 3rd party hosting provider (MyDomain.com)?

It is certainly possible to publish a Weebly site with a third-party domain, but you'd need to have a hosting plan with Weebly to do so, meaning you'd have to make your site on Weebly from the ground up.
