Hi, @TrishB!

I'm sorry to hear this! What browser are you using? You may want to try clearing the cache: www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser's-Cache

Thanks,

Once again - no longer able to edit header photos. Cache not the problem.
Any help?

Sorry to hear that, @TrishB. Can you make sure you're using the newest version of the flash plugin?

Is there an answer for this problem? I can't do anything with my headers now, except load or change a photo. Can't even delete the photo! Not cache (default response to every problem with Weebly), and I am using Chrome, which says it automatically updates Flash.

Our image editor no longer uses flash, since most browsers are no longer supporting it out-of-the-box. You won't be able to edit any changes you made a header image in the past (like adding text or filters), though you should be able to load a new image. You can also go to the Pages tab and switch to a different page type to not show the image at all.

Can you help me please? I'm an illustrator and getting a lot of commissions so naturally I wanted to update my illustration website by changing the header image in my 'sketches' section. I have tried and tried numerous times to change it and couldn't, to make matters worse it has now reverted to the original weebly image which is no good at all for my needs and does not represnt my original artwork. I then tried adding another page 'portraits' and again I am stuck with weebly's original picture in the header and cannot change it. I have tried everything, including deleting cache etc., and as I have windows 10 I have the latest flash.

Please can you help. This website is absolutely crucial for my professional work and I simply cannot have the header images that weebly have, I must have my own art as it advertises my work to prospective clients. Smiley Sad

Really hoping this can be sorted. I've never had problems with weebly before and always found it wonderfully easy to edit, so why has this changed? Smiley Sad

Sorry to hear you're having trouble, Sophie. To change a header image, click on the dropdown next to "Edit image" and choose the Upload option.

Adam, I've done that numerous times. Every time it looks as if the image is uploading, then when the uploading is complete and the recycling circle appears to show that it's working and is changing the image, then nothing happens. The screen just goes a faint grey over the background and nothing happens at all, like its frozen. I just don't understand why Weebly is usddenly not letting me upload any pictures or edit my site at all.

As I said earlier, I've deleted cache, am using the latest flash, and know how to change images, upload them and edit BUT Weebly simply is not working/responding! It's not uploading these images and changes at all and not allowing me to edit. What has happened?

Please can you help?

The new image editor isn't flash based (which is a good thing), so you shouldn't need to worry about keeping flash up-to-date. I do think it's probably an issue specific to the browser you're using, though. Can you try switching to the newest version of Chrome or FireFox to see if that helps?

Adam, I have tried switching onto the latest version of chrome (rather than using my windows 10) and as I suspected it hasn't made one jot of difference. The problem appears to be with you, ie. Weebly.

I've used Weebly without any problems for years now and absolutely depend on my illustration site for my livelihood, so you can imagine how important this is.

Suddenly a week or so ago I started having problems with Weebly, which I can see other people are also having.

PLEASE can you help?! I need someone at Weebly to sort this out. I have tried EVERYTHING and it still will not let me edit. The same problem occurs again and again, it looks as if the new uploaded photo is working, I wait for the upload bar to complete, then nothing, just a pale grey haze over everything as if it has frozen.

Is there no way that a weebly IT guy can access my site and sort the problem?

Desperately need this worked out or I will have no choice but to delete my site and set it up with someone else, erasing months and months of hard work! Smiley Sad

Actually Adam, the fact that you say 'the new image editor', tells me everything I need to know. Obviously this new change, this new image editor IS the problem!!!!! I had no problems before Weebly changed/updated their image editor at all and have only had problems since.

Surely that means that there is something wrong with your new image editor? PLEASE help fix this, I cannot overstate how important this website is for my business and livelihood. As it stands I simply can't use it all as I can't edit anything!!!! Smiley Sad

Hello Sophie! Sorry for the stress. The first step we'd need to take here to clear things up is to reproduce the problem on this end. That way, we could see what exactly happens in the system. If you haven't already, please get in touch with our support team directly at hc.weebly.com, so they can walk you through a few tests live, and get things running again ASAP.

I too have the same problem.

This problem occurs in IE, Opera, Firefox and even Chrome.

I have files less then 7mb in size that I wish to add as an image header.

I choose and upload the file, and the file goes through the motions of uploading.

Then then a dark overlay appears on the screen and nothing happens.

i have used Ccleaner to clear out all the caches. I have even rebooted the computer.

I have allowed popups and even stopped adblocker.

But the image doesn't appear as a header.

Yet I can upload images normally in the rest of the page.

Have you tried using an incognito window in Chrome?

Me neither. It froze everytime I click on Edit Image.

Can Weebly do something about this soon?

Can you try another browser temporarily to see if that helps, @blissfulyogi?

Dear Adam,

I went through and found out that only several of them (header banners) are not editable, meaning when I click on "Edit Image", it froze.

For example here, can you kindly try this one,

http://www.thepeaceseekers.org/the-lifestyle1.html

or

http://www.thepeaceseekers.org/daily-wisdom1.html

And let me know why?

Thanks so much.

Ok, I see what you're seeing, @blissfulyogi. Did you add text to these images with the old image editor?

I think uploading a new image should work, so if you have an image to replace it with that might be the quickest solution. Next to "edit image" is a dropdown that includes an upload option.

Was this issue ever resolved? I accidentally chose one of the "new" themes, weebly won't let me go back to my original them, and now I can't upload any new images to the default headers or otherwise. It's remarkably frustrating. I use Chrome, cache isn't the problem, and I cannot figure out what the issue is.

Hi @klglenno Smiley Happy Did you get this figured out? It looks like you are currently using one of our older themes.
