Link Excel Database to Customized search?

Dear all,

maybe you have the answer to my questions.

I have a page in which users are entering Data in fields and drop down menus.

I also have a page where customers are able to select from drop down boxes in order to get a page with results.

How do i link my user results, which i have in an excel table with the results from the request from the customers?

I would like for my customers to hit "Submit" and get a list of results based on the criteria they entered before.

Kind Regards,

Alexander

Hey @Alexander12!

Great question! Unfortunately there wouldn't be a way to set up a search on your site with an excel document.  You're welcome to suggest something like that on our Vote on Features board, though!

Dear Adam,

thank you very much - is there at least a way to enter my data of the exel manually in a database that is included in the site?

As said i would like for my customers to make customized searches and then get the results.

Thank you in advance,

Alex

There's a Tables app in our App Center which you could use to recreate your excel data on your site.  If you have all your data on a page using that it should get indexed for search results:

Simply drag a search element from the side bar onto your site and publish again.  It can take a bit for everything on your site to get indexed properly, but once that completes it should work just fine.

If you add the search field to your footer it'll be present on all of the pages of your site.  Some themes also have a search field in the header which can also work.
