Important Unable to add app-ads.txt in Settings

Google requires us to add app-ads.txt to the root domain e.g. www.domain.com/app-ads.txt. I can find only the "ads.txt" option in the settings page, but not the "app-ads.txt".

Please help.

I also got a email from google admob.
I really wish for Weebly to support app-ads.txt just like ads.txt sooner or later!!!

Did these emails go out recently? I haven't heard of this requirement before. Does it prevent the program from working properly?

Not supporting app-ads.txt prevents app developers from advertising.  Please add support for app-ads.txt (like you have for ads.txt) to Weebly.  Otherwise app developers who want to advertise in their apps and use Weebly for their corresponding website get messages like this:

No app-ads.txt queries authorized yet

App-ads.txt lets advertisers know which ad sources are authorized to sell ad inventory. Add your app-ads.txt and we’ll verify that it’s set up correctly.

Looks like it's been a year already and weebly doesn't even care to do anything about this?

It's under Theme, not Settings.

I have several monetized apps for years using a weebly site for app-ads.txt.  My provider recently asked me to update it, so here's what I did:

Edit the website and click on 'Theme'.

In the bottom left corner, click on 'Edit HTML/css'.

Scroll down to ASSETS and hit the '+' menu.

Click on 'Upload file(s)' and choose your app-ads.txt

The file will instantly be at :

<yoursite>.weebly.com/files/theme/app-ads.txt

which may not seem like the right location, but it seems to be found by the ad providers.

I did this and admob still can't find my site.  When I got to https://<mysite>.weebly.com/files/theme/app-ads.txt I see my admob code.  But Admob still can't find my app-ads.txt file.

I added a page called spp-ads.txt with a text file on it.  This was suggested by Weebly.  It still doesn't work.

I put the app-ads.txt code into my header.  Still doesn't work.

Is there anything esle I can do?

you probably should switch to a different service. I've seen multiple threads on this topic and nobody cared.
