Facebook group plugin not showing

I'm using the code from the main fb developers ( https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/group-plugin ) and I have broken the two sections up into two separate code embedors like it suggests with one at the top of the page below the header and the second where I want the plugin. But I am still not seeing the plugin generate.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Oh, you should be using your own Facebook app ID. Did you create one yet? I think it/s the first step for the web version of the plugin.

It looks like from Facebook's documentation that the snippet of code that includes their Javascript should be added to Settings > SEO > Header Code, rather than with an embed code element. That said, the JS code you have looks different than what they show on the page. I would double check to make sure you have the right code just to be safe.

I did notice that the full script and the short script they give you when you select the 'get code' button on their site is quite different, but I didn't know the weebly fb-app-id to use the longer code. I did move the top code over to the header SEO but it didn't make a difference. I had followed this post previously so that's why it was in an embeded code box https://community.weebly.com/t5/Site-Editor/Using-Facebook-Social-Plugins/m-p/698#M40

Any other suggestions welcome

Ok, I got it to work finally. Thanks! The AppID and the long code was the key. I don't know why the previous post used the short code or how they got it to work.

What do you mean by "creating your own Facebook app ID"?  Where do I do this?  Also, what's the difference between the long code and short code?

I've succesfully been able to get my Facebook events show up on my webpage, but have been unsuccessful at showing the link to my Facebook group.

I'm not familiar with this, but it looks like the app id can be generated from this section of the link posted above.

I assume after retrieving your app id the long code will display. Hope that helps point you in the right direction.
