Cookie Banner custom text in Greek gets truncated

Hi, I have tested that the Cookie banner text may contain this phrase "This is a sample paragraph in order to test the maximum length of text allowed for the cookie banner_test. So far the text is displayed intact. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0".

But when I try to enter text in Greek it gets truncated after even 4 or 5 words, sometimes more, without having been able to find a pattern.

Try this Greek phrase (part of the English one translated).

Αυτή είναι μια παράγραφος για να δοκιμάσω το μέγιστο μήκος που μπορεί να γραφτεί στα Ελληνικά

Then Save and Publish.

The same text box where the phrase was written now contains this :

Αυτή είναι μια παράγραφος για να δοκιμάσω το μέ

The rest is gone.

This is an error, please fix it so that I can display my text in Greek correctly.

That's unfortunate that it's doing that, @GThalassinosNet. Hmm... if you add any non-Greek characters after the Greek letters, does it stop truncating?

Hi Adam,

Sorry for the delay as there was a lot going on the past week.

I did the following tests and there appears to be some limit within which things are ok, albeit with very limited Greek character count :

Πριν συνεχίσετε πατήστε I Accept !)

Interesting that it works in the first example with English characters after it. What happens if you try something simple, like a space? Maybe you could include the same sentence in English so it makes sense for people that also speak English.

Hi Adam,

This thread seems to be pointless. I just happened to discover that I can only customize the English language text.

When I switch my site to Greek, with an add-on from the App Store, the Weebly banner text is completely different. It is written in Greek and contains the same message as the stock English, and totally unexpectedly, 2 times in a row. The same sentence.

So, what is the point of trying to customize the Weebly banner text using Greek characters if, when my site is displayed in Greek, you display a non-customizable, different text?

Why is this whole thing so hard?

It shouldn't be truncating your text regardless of what language you are typing in, although I was hoping that we could find a quicker solution for you. Have you submitted any cases to our support team yet? If not I would do so - they can escalate the issue to our engineers for investigation.

I have, as you suggested, but I have not received any form of reply. And since I have to do it on a form I have no evidence of it.

You should have received a confirmation email after submitting the request. Try searching your email box for case number 60215315. We don't have a way to provide an estimate for response time, but a rep will be assigned to your case and will reply once they receive the request in their queue.

@Bernadette my bad...

I had made a mistake which I only now figured out after reading your reply again. That is, I have changed my email hosting infrastructure and recreated all email addresses, so I put a hyphen in my Weebly mail address that shouldn't exist.

It's ok now but the email never arrived. For all we know, the rep may have already tried to get in contact with me but I never replied.

My apologies...
