Changes don't save and can't add links

Hi,

Since starting weebly my site changes sometimes don't save so I have to re-write everything over and over again. It is really starting to get om my nerves now. Also, when I want to add a link, the dialog box pops up and immediately goes away again. I also cannot change old links anymore. I really wanted to finish my site this summer, but I don't see how I can do that now..

Help would be useful.

Sorry to hear that, @irisvonk.  Can you try switching to a different browser temporarily to see if that helps? Chrome and FireFox are both solid choices.

Hi.  My changes don't save today either which is really frustrating, as yesterday it was working fine.  I already use Chrome so not sure what to do?

Same problem over here.  I have added a new page, and added an image.  The image saves fine.  Then I added a few different text boxes and some text.  Any time I make a change to the screen now - moving boxes around, even clicking out of a box sometimes - all my text is deleted.  This has happened before and I figured out it had to do with a form builder I was using at the time (which I have since stopped using), but I'm not using any 3rd party elements on this page.  Really frustrating.

Having the same problem. Trying to make text changes, but they're not saving. I'm using Safari. Just submitted a ticket.

It's really frustrating to do a ton of work and have it not save.

Ditto.  I can't get anything to save.  I also use Safari.

I am trying to make a simple one page event page.  Useless.  Have added stuff 5 times, never saved.

Finally Iuploaded it hoping the last changes would stay.  Unfortunatley they didn't.  Now I need to delete the whole site.  Don't know how to do that either.  Very frustrating.

Hello Marcie! Our apologies for the trouble.

You should be able to use the Unpublish function in the Settings to remove your live site.

Mine aren't saving either! Wasted a lot of time since I had to do so much over. Will not recommend this site to anyone!

I'm having the same problems.  I add text and titles to my pages and they aren't saved.  It seems that changes are automatically saved.  I'm not seeing a way to manually save changes.  Also, I'm trying to insert links to other websites and it won't let me turn the text into a hyperlink.  

Is there a solution yet??

Are you pasting in any of your text from anywhere else, @sjc2456?  After entering the URL of a link, be sure to clicking the downward pointing arrow (seen on the top right of this screenshot):

In addition to experiencing problems mentioned above from various users, upon my attempt to publish and finding no links were updated, upon clicking anywhere in the text window, the edit text/menu bar which normally pops up near the top of the screen, doesn't! Until I refresh the page...

Please help...

If the toolbar doesn't show, try clicking outside the element and clicking on something else on the page (like an image element, for example), then clicking back into your text element.

Hi, I am having the same problem. I have entered the URL in the website link but it does not save and their is no button to do so. My screen looks the same in the picture. I hit update but when i check to see if the link has worked it has not???

Saving should happen automatically once you click somewhere else in the editor. Links don't function within the editor, though, so you'd need to publish and check your live site to see if it's working.

I'm new and haven't had any problems like this until today. I have entered simple text and headers to pages multiple times and as soon as I move off the page to work on another page and come back all of my edits are lost.

Did you find a solution?

What browser were you using where you saw this, @wkbx? If you switch to a different one temporarily does the same thing happen?

i have the same problem. I have tried saving a link using a button, image or text. I have now spent 30 minutes on this. I did this fine yesterday.

mtvalle, let's do some troubleshooting... here are the steps I always follow:

• What browser are you editing on? (Firefox, Safari, Chrome, etc.) What other browsers have you tried to edit on since?
• What internet connection are you on? (Home, work, university, etc.) Are there any firewalls or antivirus programs there, and have you attempted your edits after disabling them?
• What devices are you accessing the editor with? (Desktop, laptop, mobile app, etc.) Have you tried any other device and do you see the same behavior?

That's unfortunate, @mtvalle. Did you change your workflow at all from what you've done previously? I can't reproduce this when I test, but I think I'm probably not doing the exact same steps.

I am having the same problems here. I change the text, leave the page and it reverts to the previouse version when I return. The text toolbox is also absent. I am on Chromebook so using Chomes browser. I have tried copy and paste and directly editing in the text box. 

Did you get to the root of the roblem yet as it is massively frustrating.
