Solved: Bug: Weird characters after embedding an Instagram...

I've come to see that Weebly blog doesn't play well with embedding Instagram posts... but Facebook embeds work just fine.

When I try embedding an insta post in my blog, here's what happens...

... However, when I am in Edit mode in Weebly, it looks just fine:

The culprit appears to be that on this blog post, I've also tried to embed an Instagram post.

Once I remove the Instagram code, this blog post renders normally.

However, Facebook embeds work.

I found a solution. You get a 'clean' embed when using https://www.picodash.com/instagram/embed. Just copy the link of the Instagram post you want to embed, choose the size, and embed the iframe. Good luck!

What is the code that you are embedding, @GeorgeKao? I'm not sure that it can be fixed since it's third party code (sounds like something you might want to contact Instagram about), but it doesn't hurt to look at it.

I had the same issue when I tried embedding a Twitter Card into my blog post

<metaname="twitter:image" content="~~image link~~">

You will notice that I was missing a space between "meta" and "name" for the last line of code. After adding the space, it removed those weird characters. Hope that helps you too!

I also have the same issue when it comes to embedding Instagram posts on my blog pages of my site. Symbols keep showing up when it's posted, but not in the editor. Are you able to assist and do you know when the issue will be resolved? It's been happening when trying to post since around March 2020 on my site.

Hi!! I would like to know if anyone has found a way to solve this problem. I tried the https://www.picodash.com/instagram/embed solution but it doesn´t work.

In the preview mode everything looks ok, but when I publish, the strange characters appear. The problem is definitely the Instagram link. When I delete the html box with the instagram code, the problem is solved.

I really need to have the instagram post shown in my blog posts.
