Bolding paragraph text appears to increase font size

I'd like to be able to bold certain words in my paragraph text without those words appearing to be 3 or 4 point sizes bigger than the surrounding text.

If it matters, I imported some Google fonts when I initially set up my site, which forced me to create a "custom theme." I can't recall the exact rigmarole involved, but I saved the instructions somewhere. Probably.

Is there a fix for this font problem? It really looks weird. Not good, since this site is marketing me as a graphic designer.

I'm not the best person to get specific instructions from, but I believe that instead of going through the css/html section you could just add an embed element. You could easily create the code yourself for what you want to do, and this website will show you how.

Sorry for the troubles! Can you post a link to your site and the page you are referencing so the community can take a look?

Sure. I had removed the bold formatting, but I just put some of it back so you can see what I'm talking about.

Please look at the home page only...the rest is under revision and a bit of a mess right now.

Thanks!

Hm. I see what you are saying. If you decrease the font size of just the words in bold does it make it too small? Otherwise I believe it would be possible with custom code. Depending on how comfortable you are with that.

Thanks for the response. Decreasing font size of the bolded words does not work—there's not much sensitivity or precision baked into that formatting bar.

I'm willing to try some custom code....it wouldn't be the first time I've ventured into the code editor. I just need very explicit instructions. Thanks!

Thank you. I'm ditching the boldface for now....no time to deal with it. I will keep this link for reference, though.
