This may be different to your experience - when working within the text element this upward scroll used to happen to me quite a lot (and it still does occasionally). It's infuriating. Because my text elements can contain several thousand words the upward scroll would take me right back to the top of the page.
It only seems to happen when I shift the cursor and click once. If I do a double click it's OK.
