Blog - Duplicate webpage titles causing SEO issue although they have been created with unique titles
Hi,
I've run a number of SEO reports and am now using Marketgoo which is telling me the same but not showing how to fix it for blog posts. All SEO software indicates that my blog titles are duplicated (picking up the site pager title as shown below) , I sued Post Options to create a unique page title for each post when I created it - how can I fix this?
Title: "Blog - Hypnotherapy Melbourne - Hypnosis Melbourne", duplicated in 87 webpages:

I think the quicker solution would be to go to Settings > Site Title and remove what you have there, since that is appended to the page title. You can then add it specifically for your home page on the Pages tab so only that page uses that.

Will not having a Site Title have a negative impact on SEO?
PS I had also used the page title Blog - which was causing duplication (for the benefit of anyone who may make the same mistake) - I've removed this now.

Hello Gem1! The Site Title is something that displays on each part of your site, to help tie them together. That would likely also create some repetition, as reported, so it comes down to which you'd prefer.

This thread is a couple years old, @Ekalavya Are you using Market Goo and do you see an error, or are you worried about your SEO rankings in general? It looks like your site is only a week or two old, and site/domain age can definitely play a role in SEO rankings. Have you had a chance to take a look at our Ultimate SEO Guide?

@whitemonkey Does this sound familiar to you? I'm not sure if you use MarketGoo, but I think I recall you have commented on a similar question for Google Analytics?
All SEO software indicates that my blog titles are duplicated.

Hi @whitemonkey and @Bernadette. No I think the problem is being that files under 'Categories' and 'Archives' are being treated as duplicates by most SEO checking software. Does Weebly not have a way to fix this like Wordpress does, in terms of assigning a blocking option for those? I have looked everywhere, and find none? I have since removed Categories and Archives and am trying at present to see if the problem goes, but I would really prefer to have at least Archives present. Of course, if that is causing a problem with SEO then I have to try whatever I can.
Attached please find a screenshot of the issue I am facing as per what marketgoo told me (I have been told the same by other SEO software).

I dt have experience with Marketgoo but have years of expereience with google and to be honest , all these programs are at best useless.
U make a change to your site and Google then takes a month to re index the page.
They have fixed REQUEST INDEXING but it aint doing anything.
Google doesnt index weebly blog categories which is why i doht use the blog any more all mu0y pages are now standard pages but am fighting a loosing battle with google... cos they wont index page chnages....
Wish there was a popular alternative

So you would advise someone looking to improve their SEO to try their luck by making individual pages, @whitemonkey ?

Its a personal preference to use standard pages, in that i can get my pages exactly as i want them despite giving myself 20x as much work
Also would be great if Weebly added as standard next /previous post buttons and auto mated RELATED POSTS without the need to add 3rd party widgets
Google is slow to crawl a page that was a WORK IN PROGRESS, i used HIDE FROM SEARCH ENGINE. I made the page live and it took Google 1 month or more to see that i UNBLOCKED my page
Bing WEBMASTERS throws up many more Errors than GOOGLE SEARCH ENGINE ever does but also takes while to 'recognize' the changes to u make to an existing page....
There are so many factors invovled in getting great SEO.. it is so infuriating
.
I am manually updating 300 pages for Seo . Best way is to have a good idea and understanding before one starts the blog... i am now paying for not knowing enough before .
So my idea behind all the programs that highlight any errors and ping ur site as 'very slow' to load, is to take them with a pinch of salt.. as they wanna sell u their services ))

More get-broke-quick schemes, anyone?
I got the following Dx from an SEO analysis website
Upon checking both pages, I noticed they carried the exact same information.
Which of the two pages should I disable/delete and how would I do it?
