Search Function: "This site is currently undergoing maintenance..."

The search function on my website currently gives users this message: "This site is currently undergoing maintenance and will be back shortly."

Any help would be appreciated here.

Thanks!

Hi @kellirmarshall Can you verify a search term you are using? Do we also have permission to publish the site if needed?

Hi, @Bernadette:

I am typing in "blues brothers."

Yes, you may publish—as long as no settings are changed (several pages are not visible to the public and/or are password-protected).

Thanks!

I won't change anything. Smiley Happy I just started a re-index of your site, and will check back in tomorrow morning to publish and see if the indexing helped. Thanks in advance for your patience. Smiley Happy

Hi again, @Bernadette. Any news on this issue? I'm still unable to search my site. Thanks!

Hi there. It doesn't look like the re-index worked, unfortunately. It's possible that something in the custom code is conflicting. Do you remember what was changed in the html/css section?

@Bernadette: yes, I modified the homepage by removing one section (the 3 black/white boxes) and adding another pair of boxes like the ones that read "Introducing Oxygen" and "Designer Theme." I also modified the code so the logo would show up on mobile devices (it didn't originally).

Finally, I added breadcrumbs to the main css.

Do you need the original code? Thanks!

I'm not able to troubleshoot code, but one thing you can try is first saving the custom theme, then revert to a standard Weebly theme. Publish the site and check to see if the search function is working. If it works, you know there is something conflicting in the code. If it doesn't work, we can have advanced support take a look. They won't be able to troubleshoot the site if it is on a custom theme, though.
