Hey there! Sorry for the stress. As you're using Weebly through a third party, you'd want to speak to them directly about that, as we wouldn't have control over the site from here.

Hi; I have this same problem — SEO Settings > Page Permalink shows "index.html" but a popup says, "Your homepage permalink is not configurable."
I contacted my web hosting service (SiteGround). They say they can't do anything about it, since it is "coded into Weebly's site design."
So, they say it's you, but you say it's them. Is there a way to resolve this?

The root file in any directly (mysite.com/, for example), is always index.html. If you want something else, try setting up a 301 Redirect of index.html to a different page of the site.

Hi Adam, echoing the other 2 folks who have replied. Is there any way in the Weebly builder that we can stop the 301 to /index.html when trying to access https://mydomain.com ? Then it has a canonical tag back to the / from index.html.

I think this happens with third party hosted sites. Can you please confirm the site url? Thanks!

Do you have customer accounts turned on, @Cre8ivEdge? The pound sign will show when using that feature.
