Hi, saw someone elses post on this but no answer. I made a new page and it defaulted to white page with black text. But I want that to be a black page with different color text (like white, or yellow, etc.) How do I do that? Isn't there a simple edit button for this without having to install widgets or css stuff? Seems like a basic function, but can't find it. Thanks!

Hey again @Dukedukenson!
If you want to do the backgroudn of the whole page, the only way to do that currentl is to customize your theme and change the background color there, although I'd only advise that if you familiar with editing CSS already. You can change font colors by going to the Themes tab and clicking on Change Fonts, though. If you're comfortable working with CSS please see this guide for more info on editing your theme.
If you want to change the background of sections, though, then do the following:
- For the classic Weebly drag and drop editor, click on the section, then click on the "Edit Background" link at the bottom of the section.
- With the Square Online editor, click on the section, then check the Section Style panel on the left and use the background option there.

Unfortunately, none of our themes support changing the background color of specific pages. You could probably customize the background color of specific page types with CSS changes, although that would require CSS and HTML knowledge.

sorry to join this late - but am reading through the community to accelerate my learning curve -I really want to change the background to a color that will not break the fourth wall. it is very confusing and time consuming to select a theme. HOW do we know if theme choices have features like splaush page and . . . are section enabled and/or set up for vertical menus? When i look through themes there is NO search feature . . . just going one by one to look. a bit weary right now ltlrying to decide if this is the product for me - it seems to have a lot of what i want but . . . as i am testing it out - not sure the features are worth it if i have to be doing coding to . . . again . . . just discouraged at how much time it is eating up JUST to sort out themes with the functions i need.

Hi @bernajena
The themes you see are going to be our responsive themes. No matter which theme you choose you will have Header, No Header, or Splash Page on each of your pages. The content shown is meant to be an example of what a site would like but it does not mean only those options are only available for the theme you are looking for. When you say vertical menus do you mean vertical navigation? Or columns of content on your site?
I personally agree that we should have some type of search field for our theme page, though!

I am aware this was posted in 2016 and it is now 2018, but none gave a good answer, so here is mine.
Click on the background you want to change colour, when the menu pops up select BACKGROUND, then select COLOUR. Now in mine the colour picker does does appear to work. However I know the colour that I wanted and so over typing #fffff leave the hash and input 78bfef which ends up as #78bfef which is light blue. It immeditaly changes the background to blue.
I hope this helps.
