Create an array for GTM implementation
Hi everyone,
I hope I posted in the right room.
So I want to track popular categories in my blog in Google Analytics. In every article I read, first step is collect each blog post category into an array before implement it to GTM. These articles gave example in Wordpress. I've tried search the implementation for Weebly, but haven't found it yet.
I'm not familiar with code so I don't know where to start. Right now I'm using Upstart as a theme. I wonder if anyone in the community has track their categories in Google Analytics? If I want to collect the blog post categories into array, where should I start?
For reference of what I asked, this is the article I read https://mixedanalytics.com/blog/track-popular-blog-tags-categories-google-analytics/
Thank you for your response.
Regards,
Maddy

Hi Maddy. Thanks for posting. The instructions in the link are specific to Wordpress and will not work on Weebly, as far as I know. @whitemonkey is this something you've ever tried to do?

@Bernadette hi unfortunately i have no knowledge/experience with this.. i have just read that link.
But my thinking is that this should be do-able from GA directly and not at site level... but what do i know..
Gonna go off on a bit of a tangent here;
I dt even track my hits any more on GA after the latest round of bot hits.
Which is a kind if a shame as
I ve added a few new posts and used Twitter Cards which is still working like a dream... and i am tagging people and the number of people clicking on my Twitter photo and thus being taken to my site has increased dramatically..
Im not in a position to need to know how my SEO is doing. So am not bothered by google changing their Algorithm every week.. i have focused on my site looking good. Margins and spacings.
Isnt the proof of a good E commerce site in the sales??
Hope u r enjoying the festive season

If you post a link to your site it might help, @maddypertiwi. The code they come use in that post will change depending on the HTML of your blog page.

Hi Adam and everyone,
Sorry for the late response. Thank you so much for helping.
My site is maddypertiwi.com and in 2020 I will full force to post articles in it. So I was thinking to track categories in my blog. I've talked to several friends who do it and who don't just to get perspective to it. Yes, the one who does it is using WordPress.
Thank you so much for your responses. I think I already have the answer I need.
