Alt Text for text boxes
Hello, I am trying to make my site more accessible. I tried using a screen reader to access my page but the text boxes were not read. How do I add alt text to text boxes? (I was able to add alt text to my images and do not need assistance with that, thank you.) - Jen

Thanks, @NJRFTF. This gives instructions for images and video. They are helpful, but I already have alt text on my images. It's the text box within each page that my screen reader cannot read. The text boxes where I can fill in my individualized information. Do you know if there are instructions for these? Thanks for the correspondence.

You don't add alt-txt to text elements - you adjust the text and font to make it clear and readable...
This is from the link I posted before....
"The way your content is written and displayed on your website can have a big impact on accessibility. When writing text and designing your website, ask yourself the following questions:
- Will the text still be easy to read when zoomed in or enlarged?
- Is there enough space between each line of text?
- Do the text and background colors have good contrast?
- Is the content written in clear, simple language?
- Are links easily distinguishable from surrounding text?
- Does linked text make sense out of context (eg, linking the phrase “click here to read about our mission” instead of only linking “click here”)?
- Do all pages have a descriptive title?
You can easily make changes to text size, color, and font face from the Theme tab. Click the Change Fonts button to view and modify the styles for all of the different types of text on your website. Check out our guides to choosing fonts, using text elements, and changing background colors to learn more, or read our article on adding page titles and descriptions."

Thanks for the continued dialogue, @NJRFTF
What I am struggling with is using a screen reader to access the text on my Weebly site. I have tried using the built-in application on my computer (Narrator), as well as the read-aloud features of both Immersive Reader on Microsoft Edge and Reader View in Mozilla Firefox. It seems my Weebly site is not compatible for any of these screen readers to access text content beyond headers and alt text. The points on the site you linked to are helpful with some users and I appreciate them. But I want to ensure visitors who identify as blind or vision impaired are able to access the content.
Thank you for your continued help,
Jen
