Is there a theme that is commonly used by educators? I'm new to weebly and I am having trouble picking a theme.  Thanks.

Great question! I haven't seen one theme used a lot by educators. You may want to try picking the theme that sticks out to you the most - go with your first instinct. You can always change your theme later if you decide to go that route.

Not specifically, though the great thing about our themes is they can be used for any type of site you like.  

Take a look at the themes here:

Don't worry about the content you see in the preview, since you can remove that and add in your education-related content. If you see one that is laid out in a way that you like, give it a try!

Would it be possible to get some templates or themes specifically for education? I am an instructor at a university working with undergraduates who want to be teachers. I've been teaching them to use Weebly to create classroom websites for a while, but this semester the available themes make it difficult for them to visualize what their website should look like because they all seem to be more business oriented. I understand that the new themes are supposed to be cleaner and more mobile friendly, but they don't really lend themselves to easily creating classroom websites if you're not sure where to start.

I love Weebly and it will always be my go to website creation tool, I'm just trying to figure out how to get my students to love it too!

The content in theme previews might lead you to think that our themes wouldn't work for an education site, but I personally think they'd work great if you add your education-related content to them.

Maybe you could make a mockup site with education content to show them how each theme would look with appropriate content?

This is not the case. I was getting ready to create a webpage for my class and the themes are not bright and colorful.

When I search Wix, there are pre-made education templates.

I agree that your templates do not lend themselves to educational sites. Highschool or Middle school teachers could use the templates and their educational content would work but for elementary school teachers, the templates are very bland. Elementary sites need more simplistic designs with brighter colors.

I just tried this link but got an error message. I was so excited to see what weebly had to offer. I teach preschool and there isn't anything here I want to use. Guess I'll try to come back another time.

Hi @Mrs_Sharpe All of our themes can be customized to your liking. For instance, if you see a theme for a restaurant you can swap out the images for something school related.

I really wish there was a more colorful theme for elementary scool educators. I found some in older themes but they dont work well on mobile phone. I tried adjusting newer themes to my needs but it just doesnt look right, I am really not a good designer.

Hi @Josipa. I definitely suggest avoiding the older themes for the exact reason you pointed out. Designing your site may take some time to get used to, but the more you practice the easier it gets. Try uploading some kid friendly background images as a starting point. Also make sure to utilize the "section" option to break up your website with different background colors. If you need stock images you can check out a site like Pexels or Unsplash.  

It looks like both of the sites in your account are using older themes, but if you create a new site and run into questions with anything just let us know.

I'm making my 3rd weebly for education now - I am wanting to find a theme that allows me to create some kind of "folder" so that kids can return and find various activities in a LA folder, or a Term 1 socials folder - not hunt through 4 months of blog posts to find them.  It is seriously time consuming to preview and play with numerous themes to find one which will do this in some format or other.  I am certain there is a way - and I am not any kind of programmer - but having a handful that were more easily suited to our needs would be super helpful.

You could create a standard page and upload new assignments. Or create subpages by subject or month. Perhaps it would help if you posted a link to an example site with the layout you are describing. Thanks!
