Using Weebly as an art and story portfolio with reliable uploads?
Hello, I'm new to making websites on Weebly, but I'm wondering if Weebly's got all of the functionality I require.
I'm an artist/writer, and I wanted to make a website to keep all of my content in one spot. Though, I'm new to the grid-like system that Weebly has, and I'm unsure if I can simply just upload more content onto the site without having to go through the steps of putting everything into gallery frames or something. I know there's a blog feature, but ideally, I would like to have something like a gallery that I could also put text under to explain it, without having to jump into the site editor every single time. And if this functionality isn't in the base version of Weebly, is there any apps or widgets that could achieve the desired effects?
Thanks in advance for the advice.

Thanks for reaching out. I'm not quite sure I understand exactly what you are looking for, though. Have you edited any of the pages in the style you are looking for? Maybe it would help to post a link to the page, or post a screenshot so we can get a better idea. Thanks!

Hmm, sorry for not being clearer.
Ideally, what I actually wanted was something almost akin to say, Deviantart or Artstation, but on a more personalized level due to the wider range of flexibility that Weebly would offer. I wanted a way to display images in an overall gallery, and click into them to see the associated description with the artwork - and doing so without having to change the website as a whole through the weebly editor and manually uploading every image into the editor and having to drag elements of the website around to make sure that everything is aligned.
I also wanted a decently navigatable situation for stories too - almost like a blog, but for stories instead. That's probably more doable as well.
Part of why I haven't gotten any screenshots is because I'm not sure it's possible for me to do this kind of thing with my website yet.

In other words you'd like to upload an image and description and have it automatically add it to a gallery and also create a separate page for the image, all in one step?

That would be preferable, yes, but I'm starting to see that that may be difficult to do. An alternative that would work, would be 'blog entries' that have the image viewable, or even embedded into the blog itself but with more of an emphasis on the text, without compromising too much on the image's quality/display. Or perhaps being able to link to a blog post through a gallery, thus being able to connect the image in question with the information specific to it?
Ultimately, maybe having both the image and text is too difficult to implement in one go, but if there was a way to connect the two then it could work out a bit better. Sorry if I am not explaining what I want clear enough - but basically, I wanted a similar experience to one of those gallery sites, but persoanlised on Weebly.

I'm familiar with Deviantart, but I have never had an account so I don't know how the content is uploaded and managed. As far as your Weebly site goes, the content would need to be uploaded into the elements in the editor. I don't think there's an app that would make it more of an automated process, but maybe another user on here has some suggestions based on your example websites you provided.

@2linescrossed To nominally replicate the approach you see at Deviantart, you'll certainly want to use a blog to house the main image and descriptive content. To reflect the blog contents on your home page, you can use an app that generates blog post "cards" each of which would mirror the main post image, the post title, and a segment of the descriptive text (you should be able to configure how much post detail to pull in each card). Try the following app together with your standard Weebly blog page:
