Not able to upload CSV member file

I am not able to upload a CSV file of members names, emails and groups to my website.

I have downloaded the Sample CSV file format. Copy and pasted (values only) into the file. Nothing happens once I select the file to upload. It just returns me ot the member page, and no new members are uploaded.

Please advices next steps to fix this.

Hi @suemann I see you have quite a few members listed. Were you able to get the csv to work?

I have not been able to get a CSV to upload at all.

This is getting urgent. I have 300+ emails I need to upload.

Can try doing the following, @suemann?

1. Download the sample CSV

2. Import that into something like Google Sheets

3. Edit it and add your information

4. Export that Google Sheet to a new CSV

5. Import the CSV that you just exported

It still does not work. It simply does nothing with the file.

If you switch to a different browser does it work?

I use Google Chrome. I've tried to edit site on Internet Explorer, but site will not open for editting. Internet Explorer will open other sites just fine. So I am unable to test this on Internet Explorer. So we seem to be getting nowhere and I am increasingly frustrated.

This is how it appears in Internet Explorer.

Internet Explorer was deprecated by Microsoft and isn't a supported browser, though Chrome should be working. Are there any updates available for Chrome for you?

I am working on most recent version of Chrome. I have also tried on MS Edge today. I still cannot upload the file - on Chrome or Edge. I am extremely frustrated. I have tried all the steps you have suggested and NOTHING is working. I have 400 emails I need to upload. It has now been several weeks and no workable solution offered. Are you able to upload on your side?

If you haven't done so yet, I would contact our support team so they can take a look and try it. They'll be able to test with your CSV to see if that works for them, or if something else is causing the issue.

I am having this same problem.  Some csv files upload, but others do not.  My issue has been "escalated" to advanced support.  They are doing nothing with it and have not contacted me back.  Now when I contact regular support and ask that they try to upload these files (go ahead, give it a try!), they refuse, claiming that the case now belongs to advanced support and they can't touch it.

Advanced support sits around drinking coffee and eating donuts.  They don't work on files and they don't contact the customers.  What redress is there at Weebly?  Is anybody there responsible?

Hello @Brahms23 - I can understand your frustration. Someone in our Weebly escalations team will contact you soon, the case is marked as a high priority. I will do what I can on my end as well. If I have any additional information to provide, I will make sure to do so here.

Have a good day!

I'm not having a good day.  But I do appreciate your offer to help.

So, as I mentioned earlier, many csv files upload with no problem.  However, there are some that just won't upload.  Weebly doesn't like them.

First, I started with 1000 names in each csv file.  Weebly doesn't like that.  Only a very few made it through.

Then I went to 200 entries in each csv file.  Weebly liked that better and accepted 9 out of the 12 I attempted to upload.  3 of them would never pass muster.

I took one of them and split it into two 100 entry csv files.  One of them made it through, but the other will not upload.  Weebly doesn't like it. Is there a way I can send it to you so you can take a look?

Thanks so much,

I haven't heard anything from "the team."  Is anybody working there?

It has been two weeks since I was promised a response "within 24 hours."

Is there anybody there who can light a fire under "the team" and get them to do their jobs?  Is there really a "team"?  Or is it some guy in his parent's basement eating chips and drinking beer?

Really though.  Why is Weebly okay with such horrendous customer service?

It seems like from the notes on the bug ticket with our engineers it's an issue with one of the email addresses in the list. I'll send you a PM, @Brahms23.
