Checklists to Create a Perfect Header Slider for your Weebly Website
I have received a lot of emails lately from Weebly users asking for help. Apparently, after the Weebly 4 update, a lot of Weebly users are looking for ways to add a header slider or other sliding effects to their websites which looks impossible with most of the Weebly themes. (If you are not a developer)
For those who know how to code, there may be some ways to add coding to insert header slider but what about those who don’t have any experience with coding?
Fortunately, I came up with a very easy and convenient solution to add header slider to your website. All you need is to follow the checklist I have created for Weebly users.
Checklist for Creating Header Slider
- Get the Boo Slider App from Weebly App Store.
- If you don’t have customizable header option, get the updated and latest themes from Weebly or from Baamboo Studio.
- Drag the Boo Slider to the header on your web page.
- Go to the Boo Slider Guide to follow simple steps with illustrations to add a full-width slider in less than a minute.
- Add negative space (white space) around your header. Slider > Scroll Down to Margin > provide padding Values for top and bottom.
By following these simple steps, you can easily add a header slider to your website within minutes. Let me know if you need any further help with the problem.
Checklist for Header Slider Best Practices.
- Keep the number of slides to 5.
- Use the best, high converting slide as your first slide.
- Provide enough time to slow readers before moving to next slide.
- Keep the text on each slide to few words.
- Add Call to Action to each slide. Here is a demo
- Include both Auto and Manual Rotation.
- Use bullet points for navigation. Make use of Visible “Previous” and “Next” arrows.
- For transition, use soft fade out than quick horizontal slide.
- Keep the size of the images small to make sure slide loads quickly (use images with 1500px width maximum).
- Make sure to view slider appearance on multiple devices before approving a responsive slider.
I hope these points will help you a lot to design a header slider that can bring new life to your website design. I have also created a blog post https://www.baamboostudio.com/a-comprehensive-tutorial-to-create-weebly-header-slider/ with more in-depth details on the same topic.
