Custom Domain that fowards to Etsy is not secure

I shut down my store website, but still have the custom domain registered. It's set up to forward directly to my Etsy storefront, but it's giving this error, I'm not sure how to fix that? Do I need to get an SSL certificate for the domain even though it's going to Etsy??

Hi there @n9641200

Thank you so much for reaching out to us! When a domain is connected to a website with us, we are able to make the SSL active. If you forward a domain owned here to a 3rd party website, the SSL is not always guaranteed. I apologize for the inconvenience!

Is there no way to fix it?
What is the point of owning a domain if people are getting a non-secure error when they try to go to my site?

Hi there @n9641200

Unfortunately there is no way around this, when a domain is forwarding to a 3rd party URL, SSL is not always included.
