how to mass delete items in inventory

looking to clean my item libary up how do i do a mass delete of all the products we dont want in it anymore?

the easiest way would be to export your items into a spreadsheet so you can select all the rows you want to delete and then import the spreadsheet back into Square.

when you import your item libary it doesnt delete ur libary it stays there???

it does i didnt see that it gives you the option to delete your library

importing overwrites the library.  so when you export you are exporting your whole library, then adding or subtracting from it.  then importing it which will overwrite what is there.

When I delete items in my spreadsheet and then import it into Square, the items are not deleted. Any ideas?

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble importing your library. A few things to keep in mind- double check that the edits made to your spreadsheet have saved. When using Google sheets for example, I've found that changes sometimes don't actually save until I select to File > Download. 

 

Also ensure you selecting "Replace Item Library" as the import type when uploading your spreadsheet.

Keep in mind that there are 2 options when uploading your edited library (in Excel) back to Square: 1. "Modify Item Library" which allows you to add new items and update existing ones, but not delete any items, and, 2. "Replace Item Library" which will overwrite your existing items. All items will be deleted and replaced. However, also keep in mind that with the 2nd option, ALL images that were previously saved for your items will be LOST, and you will need to replace those. This is what I was informed by a live chat agent for Square just recently.
