I know how to manually merge clients, but I probably have about 1,000 duplicates.

say a customer with a previous purchase on their Visa comes in and makes a purchase on their Amex Square has no way to know they are the exact same person even though their name is the same.
The only way to solve this is at the time of purchase to manually add the customer and then they will be automatically linked, but in a retail setting, you probably don't know every person to add so it is complicated.
Sometimes duplicates may look like duplicates but aren't so you have to be careful when merging because it is a one-way action to merge.
