Square Appointments App: Invoice defaults when generated from appointment

I've run into an issue recently when creating invoices from an appointment. The invoice defaults (Send, Due, Reminders, Request Shipping Address, Allow Tips, Allow Customer to Save Card) do not pull through.

Example:

On iPhone Square Appointment app, click on desired appointment.

Select Review and Check Out.

Select Charge $xx.xx

Select Invoice

Send defaults to Immediately, Due defaults to Upon Receipt, Reminders defaults to Off.

As opposed to...

On iPhone Square Invoice app, click +.

Click Invoice.

Due is 7 days and Reminders are On. This is how I would prefer it to be set up.

Is anyone else having this issue? Would love to see a solution. Checking these settings to make sure they are consistent every time is tedious.

@Standiford I hope you are well. I wanted to let you know that this issue has been resolved so you're Invoice default settings should now apply when you create an invoice from the Square Appointments app. Thank you again for flagging this and for your patience while our team worked to resolve this.

Hello @Standiford, thanks for your post, I'm sorry to hear this is happening.

Did the defaults ever apply correctly? I mean, do you think they intermittently don't apply - or they never apply?

As a first step, it would be great if you you try these troubleshooting steps. Try each step one at a time:

  1. Force close the Square Appointments app.
  2. Sign out and sign back in again.
  3. Turn your device off, and turn it back on again.
  4. Make sure the software on your device is up to date! (For example from an iPhone go to the Settings app > tap General > Software Update.)
  5. Delete and reinstall the Appointments app. (NOTE If you have taken payments in Offline Mode do not delete the app. Wait for your payments to be uploaded and then you can delete the app.)

I'm also asking our Appointments team to take a look so it would be great if you could reply to let me know how the troubleshooting goes. Thanks for your patience!

Hi again @Standiford! I just wanted to let you know that our team was able to reproduce this issue when sending an invoice from the Appointments app and they are working on a fix right now! This should be fully resolved in the next version of the Appointments app - but I'll post here to confirm that, and to let you know when the update to the app is available.

Thanks for flagging this and for your patience while we work to address this!

Another quick update to let you know that while we're working to fix this if invoice from the Invoices section of the Appointments app the defaults will apply.

To send an Invoice this way open the Appointments app > tap the three lines in the upper left >tap Invoices.

You'll see your defaults should be applied and you can tap Add Customer to select a customer from your directory or create a new customer, then tap Add Item or Discount to add a service to the invoice.

Thanks again for your patience with this!
