Register Customer Facing Screen data entry

I started getting customers to enter their data at my store, however the customer facing screen shows input fields for Name, email, address, company, phone, etc. I think I found in my dashboard to customize these fields, and some already appear turned off. However, my customers are still seeing all of these fields which are unnessary to me, like company. 

 

Is there another spot to customize these fields?

Hey @HC_Charlie, thanks for bringing this up. Are you referring to being able to customize the customer-facing screen on Square Register? At this time, the ability to edit field visibility of the customer-facing screen isn't available—though I will share your post with our Register Team.

 

Out of curiosity, which dashboard tab or URL allowed you to customize fields? I want to be sure I'm on the same page and that I'm forwarding to the proper team members. Appreciate your time!

Under Customers...Settings...Customer Profiles.

 

I see Configure Profiles, with the ability to turn on/off the following:

Text Input

Thanks for replying with that information, @HC_Charlie. I see what you mean—the Customer Profiles tab doesn't clearly indicate where these fields will display. I'm surfacing this with the proper team members and I'll point out an opportunity to make this evident in the dashboard vs. app.

 

As for editing the appearance of the customer-facing screen, I don't have any other updates available at this time. We'll definitely return as any other developments come through. Appreciate your patience on this one.

Circling back here with a bit more clarification—the custom fields that you add to the Customer Profile tab display only to the seller-facing screen on Square Register. In addition, the ability to remove fields from the customer-facing display is not available at this time.

 

I wasn't able to access a specific timeline for when there will be an opportunity to surface custom fields in the customer-facing screen, so you'll want to be sure you review/ask for any imperative information needed in a custom field as you save these details.

Hi guys,

 

Is this issue fixed? The customer facing display has a few fields that we don't need to capture and would like to not display them. It is causing unnecessary delays and customer questions. Do let us know. Thanks!

Hi @Pintuna- Appreciate you checking in! I reached back out to our Product Team about this, and they confirmed that it still isn't supported. However, they're considering working on the customer facing display fields in the future. I don't have an exact timeline for when it would be implemented but if it is, we'll update this thread.

Hi guys,

 

Is this issue fixed? The customer-facing display has a few entry fields that we don't need to capture and it is a huge pain for our employees and huests.

At this time this is still a feature request @TGPH.

 

I understand this is frustrating but our product team is aware of this situation.

Is there any updates on this? We have been working with multiple square developers and still haven't resolved the issue. Is there any chance of replacing the customer facing display with an iPad in order to allow for customization?

The only way to use an iPad as a facing display would be using the Square Stand as checkout instead of the Square Register @regionwine. I don't have any new updates at this time.

Any traction on this feature? We only want to capture mobile phone number and name as mandatory items.   Email would be optional, but I would like to hide the remainder of the fields and the documentation is still clear on the correlation between the hidden fields option and the application.  We are using the Square Register.
