Questions about Square Retail

Lots of questions...I will start with...

 

When will the inventory reporting & cost of goods issue be fixed?  

 

Are you going to add an ability to upload a purchase order rather than making us upload product and then manually enter the PO (double work).  

 

On the register when adding a product to the screen--are you able to add a search function?  We have tons of products and it's a pain to have to scroll thru them all to add a key to our register

Hi @gregg1357 - I’m happy to answer your Register question, but will have to pass on your Retail questions to my teammates who are more knowledgeable about that topic. I’ll have someone from the community team follow up with you regarding the other questions.

 

As for searching, if you tap on “All Items” from the Checkout section of Register, you’ll see a search bar in the top center of the screen, from which you can search all your items. You can also access this search bar from the “Categories” “Discounts” pages. Hope this helps!

I think you misunderstood.  I know how to search items but when I'm adding new keys to my register, you can't search but you have to scroll thru the whole list.  I still haven't heard back about my other questions and would love to know.  Obviously, the COGS question is the most important.  This report needs to be accurate to be able to use it, so the system needs to be pulling up the current info to be useful.

Also--I'm really anxious to get the ability to upload POs vs. items and then have to create POS.  Some of my orders are 10 pages long so if I have to upload the items and then hand enter the PO it's very time consuming.  My last POS system allowed me to upload the PO and then edit it.  Are you considering this feature?  Also--on the items list, would consider a search by vendor?  You can do this on the inventory management side, but then you can't click on the item to edit it.  The items list and inventory management side should be more connected!  We find ourselves toggling back and forth a lot when we're entering/updating items.  Finally--is there a way to edit the list of reasons why inventory is changing?  We have some custom reasons that we'd like to create.

Hi @gregg1357 - I just heard back our Retail Team on your questions. Unfortunately, we don't have any timelines as to when reporting limitaitons will be updated or the ability to upload purchase order. 

 

There is a search function  in the retail app right now. It goes off SKU and keyword of item names. Let me know if you need more help finding it!
