Is there a way to use a code to identify the origin of a group of transactions?
New to the online store. I am looking for a way to use a code or coupon to identify customers generated through a specific partnership (i.e. a local conservation group wants to promote our products to their members and we would like to give that group a % of those sales generated.) The code would not provide a discount to the individual shopper, but would allow for their transaction to be tracked/identified, so a percentage of their sale could be dedicated to that third party. I expect to do that accounting manually, but its the means of tracking those sales so I can add them up later that I'm looking for. Ideas?

Hi! Thanks so much for taking the time to post this. At this time we do not have a way to track a certain set of sellers, but you try a couple workarounds to see if they are a good fit for your business:
1: You can have these customers add a note to their orders when they are placed. You will be able to see these notes on your Orders page and add up the sales from there.
2: Consider adding an item modifier to each of your items that is $0 and having these customers select that modifier when purchasing items. You can then filter your sales for those modifiers and add up your sales that way.
3: Create a customer named after your conservation group, then tag that customer to each order made through your online store (you will only know this if they leave a note saying they are from this group). At the end of the month, you can filter all your sales by that customer as well to get a grand total.
I know that both of these workarounds are not ideal, but it can give you a starting ground for figuring out what works best for you.
Thanks again!

Thanks, Ashley. Is there not a way to create a promo code for a nominal amount (say $5 off) and distribute that to my group, and track all who use it? What are the limitations of tacking transactions this way?

You can create a coupon code with Weebly on your Square Dashboard under Online Store > Items > Coupons. To learn more about setting them up, check out Weebly's support page, and you can track how many sales you get through these coupon sales under Insights > Coupons.
This would be a really helpful tool for you if you're okay passing the coupon code out to the members in your group!
