Can i manual enter a visa gift card that was bought in Canada? Im in the usa and my customer is in canada. They have emptied their bank account bcuz of Corona virus so i was wondering if they bought a visa gift card with cash over there would i be able to manual enter it here? And would i try to charge the 50 cad or the 34.80 usd it equates to?

Hey @Jon2017

Yes, Visa gift cards are accepted as a form of payment. Just make sure that the card has enough to cover the balance you're charging and the conversion costs. Those would be the responsibility of the customer.

Thank you!

What are the conversion costs? Is there somewhere i can find that information? My customer is buying a 50$ cad visa gift card. That equates to 34.80 usd. So if i charge 30$ usd to the card would there be enough money on there to do that?

The conversion rate between USD and CAD varies day to day, so it would depend on the time of the transaction. You can look up a conversion calculator through Google.

Use the calculator to figure the closest figure needed on the Visa gift card.
