Hey @LORjacksonlv, I can help with this! 

 

If you are looking to bulk import your items, I recomend using our CSV template. This will make the process smooth and easy! 

 

To access your template you will need to sign in to your Square Dashboard. From here select items from the menu options on the left hand side of your screen. Then click on "download our template" in blue! 

 

Now you can edit the CSV in excel. I recomend checking out the Import Items Online article in our Support Center. This is a helpful resource!

"Then click on 'download our template' in blue!" - I cannot find this. Can you be a little bit more specific as to where this prompt is supposed to appear? 

 

Also, when I follow these directions from one of your tutorials, I do not see the prompt for the template there either:

 

  1. Click Actions > Import Library.
  2. Select Modify Item Library to add new items and update existing items, or Replace Item Library to delete all existing items and replace them with your uploaded items.
  3. Click Next > “Download our template file.” Select if you’d like to download the template in Excel (.xlsx), which is recommended for most users, or CSV.

After #2, it simply goes to a drag and drop box for the imported file, there is no mention of a template.

From the Dashboard menu, visit Items > Actions in the top right corner > Export which will download the template for you. Once you fill in the template with your inventory, follow the same steps to import.

I am having trouble importing inventory from a clover to the square. When I hit "import" in the square dashboard it's telling me that the file is more than one sheet so it won't import. Anyone have any idea how to correct this? TIA

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble @shopcoco! Are you using Square's template to import your item library? You can only upload your item library using this template, see the steps to download it from your Dashboard are in the post above!

I just signed up for a free Squareup storefront to check out your service.  Seems very easy, I like it.

 

I can see how I have to add new items to my store, but I don;t see how I can bulk upload products/items to my store.  Is this possible with Squareup storefronts?

@JukeboxCLE Are you referring to the template for uploading your Item Library? If so, I merged you to a thread that speaks on how to download it.

Help! I'm running into so many minor issues with my inventory upload with excel files. When a small error happens I get stuck at these "Import in Progress" screens and cannot work on my library or try again for 45+ minutes at a time. It's so frustrating!!!!

 

I just want to be able to "cancel import" so I can make a fix and try again. Anyone know a way to get out of it? I know I can work on other areas in the Dashboard but I need to get my library set up first. Thanks for any help!

There isn't a way to cancel in the middle of an import. Unfortunately you'll need to wait until the import is done. Only then are you able to re-do it.  

 

An import shouldn't take 45 mins, though. Have you tried other browsers? Are you experiencing issues with internet?

Yeah, internet is great and no issues with browser.

 

I figured out that if an "Item Title" was the same name as something already existing in my library without the matching token, it stalled in import and I had to wait for it to time out to be able to try again. It took 30-45 minutes for it to time out.

 

Sometimes it would give me a "server error". Another time it was this error after waiting forever. It was never able to give me the exact problem - like duplicate item title or item in library.
