How do I categorize a custom item in an invoice

When sending invoices for custom items that are not in my inventory, all of the paid invoices end up in the "uncategorized" category. Is there a way I can assign a category to a custom item in an invoice without first creating the item in my inventory?

Hey there @lorakjewery.

 

There isn't a way to assign a custom item to a category while you're in the process of creating an invoice. If you want the custom items to be categorized, you'd first need to create them as actual items in your Item Library and THEN assign them to a category.
