Adding a custom attribute to printed receipt

I am the chairman for a non-profit art gallery. We have several member artists (and guest artists, as well) who sell their work in our gallery. Since we pay commissions on the work, we need to know whose work is sold for each transaction.

I have created a custom attribute in my items called "ARTIST" that allows me to put in the artist's name. I would like to be able to display that custom attribute on the transaction and printed receipt. This would make tracking commissions MUCH easier.

Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hello @ImagesGallery !

I haven't used the Custom Attributes section of the items, so I'm not sure they print on the receipts or not, but I do know that any item notes you type in will print. When you have the item in the "tape" on the right side of the screen, tap on it. In the screen that pops up, scroll down to the Notes section. If you type the artist's name in this notes box it will print on the receipt and be seen on your transactions log.

One thing you may want to consider to make your reporting a LOT easier:

Make each artist's name a Category. Inside that category, you can put each piece of artwork (as an item) that artist is selling. On checkout, you can find the name of the piece or look up by artist category. When it's time to pay commissions you can go into your dashboard -> Reports -> Category Sales. All the artists names who sold artwork will have the dollar amount sold here. Quick and easy.

Hope this helps!
