[New] Facebook Messenger and Square Messages

Hey, Seller Community! We’re excited to announce that you can now connect Facebook Messenger with Square Messages!

With the new Facebook Messenger integration, communicating with your customers is easier than ever. Exchange messages, photos, and payment links via Facebook Messenger directly from your Square account with a few simple steps.

 

Before you can use Facebook Messenger with Square Messages, you’ll need to enable Square Messages. You’ll also need a Facebook Business account with a “Message Us” button.

 

To get started:

 

  • From your Square Dashboard, head to Account & Settings and select Online Sales Channels.
  • Click the Get Started button for Facebook Messenger and log into your Facebook account.
    Follow the prompts to complete the setup and save.

Once you’ve connected to Facebook, you can start receiving and replying to Facebook messages from your customers.

This is great news.  When I'm in the store I sometimes miss customers through my fb business page because I don't have my phone in my hand or I'm with a customer and forget about the notification from my watch....

I already have this activated. Now... can you also PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add a FB messenger plugin for Square Online. If you do that, I can completely drop my subscription with Wix and move my site wholely over to Square. Wix lets me put in custom code, which includes the official Facebook chat plugin from the Facebook Business Suite.

If not that, let us add code to the background of our Square site, right now the only thing is a box with custom code, but that does not produce what I need.

@jasonpurdy I appreciate that information, however, this just adds a button. I would like a live chat widget that would take place right there on the same page.
