Is it possible to use an iPad to take the order on the square for restaurants app…then hand an iPhone with a reader in it to the customer to collect payment?
I will have to tag someone else in to confirm with the restaurants app, but I know you can do this in Square POS using open tickets.
@TheRealChipA I assume Square for Restaurants should be able to do the same thing of saving a ticket that can be opened on another device.
@VanKalkerFarms @BoomSauce It is possible. Any saved ticket can be retrieved on any device/app linked to our Square accounts for payment. Having said that, it can get a little more complicated if other features are used. For example, if @BoomSauce is using Square Loyalty, there might be some configuration issues that need to be fixed on the payment (iPhone) device in order to keep that flow working as expected. And there might be other issues. So…
@BoomSauce Can you explain your order/payment flow? What other Square features do you use (Loyalty, customer data collection, etc)? I can’t think of much that would cause issues, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. If you are simply taking orders and then having customers pay for them — without a lot of other bells-and-whistles — you should be good to go.
