Can I use Square Gift Cards that could be 4-5 years old?

We don't sell many gift cards so I have an older stack. When I tried to load one it didn't swipe well. Do they wear out from sitting?

Your gift cards should still be able to be used. Here's a few steps you can try to make sure your reader is working properly. You can also use a dry paper towel and slide it through your reader to clear it of any debris. Once it's cleaned up, you can check these tips out as well.
