Re: BOGO Discount

@sacredheart926  Be sure you have both items available in both sections of the discount. For example I added my Costa Rica to the shot I shared before:

bogo2.jpg

On the online store, I see the BOGO Test label on both items and the discount applies as it should. The two items also show up in the popup with the discount information.

If you have another item that's eligible for the discount, like a buy item x get item y free promo, it's a little more difficult. The Item Y will not show the discount. Your customer will have to look at the more details popup to see what they need to add to the cart. There is no way to automatically add an item to the cart.

Hello @sacredheart926 !

BOGO discounts do exist and have been available for quite a few years now.

Web Dashboard -> Items -> Discounts -> Create.

Put 100% in for the discount amount, then click Discount Rules under Automatic Discount. Choose Quantity on the popup. In the new screen, put 1 (or however many items someone needs to purchase before the discount kicks in), choose your item(s) that are a part of the deal, then click Add Discount Rule. Choose Buy One, Get One, then fill in the quantity and items that can be discounted. In the end you should see a screen that looks like this:

bogo.jpg

There's another line below this screen shot for enabling the discount on your Square Online store.

So, for me if a customer orders 2 bags of the Colombia coffee, the second one is automatically discounted.

A few things:

-Use items, not categories. Category discounts don't apply online

-You can change the quantities as well, like a buy 4 get one promo.

Hope this helps!

@sacredheart926 Where are you looking for this badge? On your online store or on the Point of Sale?

On the Point of Sale, there really is no indicator about the discount, it's just applied automatically.

For online, you'll see your discount name on the item itself. When you click on the item you can then click on the View Details link on the discount and you'll see a dialog like this:

popup.jpg

That's really the only way the discount is advertised.

If you're not seeing this it may be a configuration issue. Please reply with your website address so we can see what you're seeing.

There is a lot left to be desired with the BOGO, sale, or discount menus. Specifically, I understand the frustration of the OP. I have a VERY large inventory of thousands of items. I am currently running a BOGO 50% sale in store and online. However, there is no indication on the website that the sale is happening other than my scrolling banner on the home screen:

The sale also does not show when a sale item is selected:

The discounts DO show in the cart:

The items have been added in the discount menu and copied through the painstaking process of checking each individual box next to the item to ensure it will affect the Square Online portal as well:

I would definitely suggest adding a "Check All" feature to the top of this menu for those of us who are selling more than 10 items. I currently have 5983 comics and 1138 Funko figures BOGO 50% online and in store. I had to check the box of each one of them to create this sale. Literally hours of wasted time that could have been shortened to a few minutes with a "Check All" feature at the top of the field bar since you can't use a Category and sell online. The Square Online box is also checked. But, as you can see, the BOGO discount banner does not show before the items are placed in the cart.
