How To Move Location Without Losing Clients
So... my lease drama is still ongoing but in the meantime, I secured a new spot! I really love the spot and think over the next five years it is going to grow huge--like my current spot did over the last 7 years. My issue is how to get clients to move with.me. The new location is about 10 miles north of here. Most of my clients come from the next town over to the south so it will be a 20+ minute commute to get to my new place for them.
I have my current spot until the end of the year so I plan on running both until then.
I'm hoping to get them used to it and see how much easier the parking is and how it is located in a way better area. While growing some new clientele in the new area. But I feel like there will be some pushback. I know not everyone will go with me.
Has anyone else ever moved their beauty business to a new location that was in a different zip code?

My lease is up May 1st and I will also be moving my spa to a new location. I am begining to prepare my clients now about the upcoming move. Although the new location is only 8 minutes away from my current location, im preparing for a little push back. I will be further out for my clients coming from the south side of town. I plan to offer clients who follow some sort of loyalty "thank you" incentive. I'm still debating on the incentive. Could you possibly offer a special for the 1st month in the new location to keep clients interested?

@londynbella I LOVE the idea of a "thank you" incentive!
@Doran You may want to consider including local media and submitting a press release to local news sources. We have had really good success getting coverage of our events.

I believe your true customer base will travel to wherever you are. Do you have a website? For those who can't do that drive, this will be a great option for them. I moved my store back in Nov and I haven't had a problem with my customers coming to the new spot. I sent out emails and text messages announcing the move and basically had a party opening day. Have a raffle opening day. Those that visit the store that day can enter for a chance to win a gift card, service, or item. You'll do great. Good luck on the move and much prosperity and growth to you and your business.
