No Theme Button in Editor

My Editor isn't showing an option to change/import Themes … there is no Theme button at all: https://screenshot.net/5qemczl

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but thanks for the help in advance!

Thanks for posting, @bodeinvenice. The editor experience you have right now does not currently support changing themes. This is something that we're working on, although I don't have an ETA right now on when that will happen.

Hi Adam and thanks for the quick response! How do I get a version of Weebly that enables me to change themes? Can you please provide a link? Thanks!

Not a problem! What you'll want to do is sign up again on Weebly.com, and make sure to say that you don't want to sell online - don't worry, you'll still get access to all of the store features. If you want to use the same email address with your account, first change the email address on your current account to something else; that will free it up for use in a new account.

Do I understand you to say that now that I've started my store - set up categories, entered products, etc. - I have to create an entirely new site, making sure to say "that (I) don't want to sell online," in order to access different themes?

If you want to use the older editor experience which includes themes, yes (the older editor experience will still give you all of the store management tools). We are working on themes for the newer editor experience, though, so it will be an option for you in the future if you stick with what you have now. Depending on what you want to do you might be able to achieve that with the newer editor. Was there something you wanted to change with the look of your site in particular?

Does this include the supposed drag and drop feature?

In all honesty i'm also having issue with my photo loading sending me to the home page after completeing each one as multiple all cause errors. Considering i have paid a subcription for these tools they are taking me twice as long to produce a basic page.

The editor experience that you have creates a site in a different way than drag and drop, @Trudy. I'm not sure what is happening when you are uploading photos, though. Are you saying that after you upload an image to a section it reloads the home page of your site?

Hi,

I just started using Weebly and I am really frustrated with the editor.  The inablity to change themes is just one of the issues I have with the current editor but from reading this and some other posts around the old editor vs new and I'm pretty dissapointed.  When is there going to be an update to the editor that has all or at least the majority of features I read about before signing up?  When I see that this post was made in June, and here we are in Nov and still there is no support for changing themes it makes me nervous that development is not properly funded.

Do you have any updates on the theme functionality mentioned by the original poster of this question?  If you don't know, at least can you provide some information on when functionality updates are deployed?  Is it once a week, once every other week, once a month or once every other month?  Right now I'm not stoked about your editing software.

Generally speaking I would be less disappointed if there was an easy way for me to workaround the issues I want to fix by writing the HTML myself.  Is there some way to do this?  Maybe that breaks your editor if I'm injecting my own HTML?  Anyway, if I don't see a reply that demonstrates that you guys are going to be making progress on this then, maybe I'll need to switch to WIX or WordPress.  Pretty dissapointed.

Thanks for posting. The editor you are using does not work with themes. The site is created using the various sections that you can use to customize your own "theme". Ever our older editor used themes as more of a guideline and every old theme could be duplicated using the builder elements. I believe I've heard a possibility of offering more starting off layouts, but again, all of the layouts could be created on your own with the sections. Is there anything in particular you are looking for?

As far as updates go, we have several teams that work non-stop pushing out updates and changes to make the service more accommodating. I don't know the exact number, but several dozen in the past quarter alone. Some of the changes may not be as apparent as others, but I assure you, this product is receives a lot of attention!

Unfortunately, there is no access to html/css area with this editor. What kind of changes are you wanting to make? It's possible the embed section may help. Thanks!

Any updates on this topic? We have purchased a custom theme through Weebly but are unable to see any options for adding a theme to our brand new online store.

Thanks for your post, @EG4. The newer website editor does not yet support using different themes, so there isn't really a way to use the custom theme you bought. Are you able to get a refund from the third party theme developer you purchased it from?
