Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Do you have a lot of content on the pages of your site? The only time I've experienced slowness in the editor is when there was a large amount of content on an individual page.

Adam

I am yet another user getting frustrated beyond belief about how slow Weebly is. What the heck is going on?

I look around the web and it seems many people have the same problem. It's so disappointing, because apart from the speed I'm a pretty happy Weebly user.

I have superfast internet, with all other sites loading in 1-3 seconds. With Weebly it can take two minutes just to log on! And as for updating pages - I sit there watching the "loading" icon spin for minutes on end.

I have gone from spruiking Weebly to everyone I meet, to now telling people to look for alternatives.

Please tell me you're onto this.

Sorry to hear you're having performance issues, @davideagle74. Is there a particular time of day when you most use the editor? I'm wonder if it's a combination of distance between you and our data center in the US and possible speed throttling by your ISP during peak internet hours.

What ISP do you use, @AAAAA? It's possible in your case it's a temporary ISP issue. I say that because the ISP I use at home has been having a lot of issues recently, although that kind of thing is usually resolved on its own.

Can you please look into this for me. The Weebly Site Editor takes for ever. And it just keeps loading.

Can someone responsible at Weebly attend to my query

I have super fast internet at home and office. Why doesn't Weebly look into this problem. The Site Editor is slow beyond imagination and I'm seriously thinking of changing my Website platform from Weebly.

I don't think the problem is your internet connection itself, @KaysIT. Some of the pages of your site loaded fine for me in the editor, but others were super slow. On the slow pages it looks like you have some custom content included in Embed Code elements, and a few different apps. I bet either the custom content or one of the apps is causing the slowness.

Hey Adam / weebley people.

It seems you dodging problems.....and you dont answer or try to solve problems.

As I read you response to the speed issue, weebley is simply not good enough for business use.

I have know reached a state were I cant do any changes on my website...it is not responding at all.

I have spend hours and hours, and payed for your service, now I cant finish the site. I have only

functions on your site, I have received no warnings abourt wrong use, to much pircture, HTML code...

Is Your lack of response a recommendation to find another website solution...it seems so.

Hi @Dirchsen

I'm sorry for the frustration you are feeling.

I am in the editor and am not having an issue with pulling up any of the pages I've tried. Is there a specific page you are not able to load? I prefer to edit in Chrome Incognito mode and that may help you out.

Compared to other web hosting sites, Weebly is dramatically slower and is apparently unable handle the request traffic when editing the site. This has nothing to do with the volume of content on a page or the ISP.  The color boxes and call out boxes are the key area of performance failure. Trying to udate these elements should not be kicking off YouTube functions. The editor mode of Weebly has gotten dodgy beyond tolerance. These problems don't show up on WIx or Foursquare and I am working on these sites via the same ISP.

If Weebly can't resolve these issues soon, don;t be surprised to see an exodus to other web hosting services whose performance is significantly better.

Hey Guys, i'm in Melbourne, Australia and i'm in the same place.

It's taken me 4 days so far to create a client portal that I honesty could have completed within an hour, if load speeds were normal.  That's right, normal - not even fast!

Constant freezing, loading delays... the amount of content I have on pages is not unreasonable for 2018 and shouldn't be an excuse.

Weebly needs a new platform to handle all this or i'm most likely going to move over to Squarespace or Wix.

Hi MissRosie  - I'm completely in agreement with all of your comments. I have been using Weebly for my 3 websites since 2014. I'm a journalist and the one site is based on Breaking News. There have been times I have lost out on getting a news story published in time because of the incredibly aggravating loading speeds of the editor app.

It's October, 2018 - and this is what we are dealing with. Incredibly frustrating situation.

I have noticed that a page with alot of content slows down dramatically ... i am moving more towards high content single pages and i beleive many other sites are also adoptnig this trend ... the result is the editor is getting so slow that it is bordering on unusable ... do you have any tips?  willr emoving apps help?  is this something that has gotten worse lately?   my website was down the other day and it was auto publishing with any change i made rather than waiting to be published ... it seems like there are alot of issues going on behind the scenes ... i have been trying to get through to tech support and sit on hold for hours ages ... and i have only received one response to numerous chat enquiries ... also your chat system is operating more like an email system and is not actually chat ... please help

So my previous reply was deleted, because rather than dealing with legitimate complaints, weebly prefers to put it's head in the sand.

Nice - you guys couldn't push me further away from your service if you tried.

You're either all completely stupid and shouldn't be running a customer service based business, or you legitimately don't care.

Either way, I won't be here much longer.  Disgraceful.

Hi EVeryone ... quick update ... I spoke with tech support and as always, once you get through they are amazing and helpful and do not rush you ... i love using weebly and think it is way more cost effective than shopify ... its not perfect but overall i think it is one of the best products or services i have ever bought and used.

so the problem is definitely the amount of conent on a page so i had to go back to breaking up content between multiple pages ... i wish this could be solved but at least i have a work around.  i can definitely see at roughly which point content starts to dramatically slow down the editor ... especially if you have embeds like you tube videos (maybe if the developers removed the video preview because it seems to have to connect to you tube after every change )  so i would reccomend to others to keep pages as small as possible for now

... no comments on the other topics i posted about but again while not perfect i do love weebly and appreciate how helpful they are.

Hi there. Thanks for reaching out! Can you link the url to the page that is loading slow? It may be the amount of content or size of uploaded files causing a lag. Third party apps can also cause a slow load time. We definitely want to confirm, though.
