Weebly Tip of the Week: Font Pairings

Each Weebly theme comes with default fonts paired to look well together, but if you’d like to edit your site’s fonts to better reflect your personality, you might run into the dreaded…bum bum BUM...  font clash!

Fortunately, you’re reading this Tip of the Week! Do a Google search for font pairings and you’ll find a grip of results. Typewolf https://www.typewolf.com/ and Font Pair http://fontpair.co/ are two great resources to use.

So how do I edit those fonts? Read our HC article on How to Edit Fonts!

Go to Theme > Change Font > Then select the font you want to change. Paragraph Text and Title will be the most common.

If you find a font you really like for one type of text, then you can use the resources above and/or Google search for a pairing.

The thing I love about Typewolf is that it shows you the font, and some real examples of use around the interwebs.

A suggested pairing may or may not be in our list, so you might want to go through a few.

EDIT: Erin wrote this post a while ago on Adding additional Google fonts. It's involved and includes editing the HTML / CSS, but if you really want that extra font, it's worth it! Just keep in mind: The Weebly Support team can’t help you with themes that have been customized, so take this tip with caution. I will list a few “oops, I messed up” options at the end of the post.

Also this exercise may or may not help you get a better feel for what kinds of fonts look good together. Who needs a Design degree right?? (jk Design degrees are worth it).

What font pairings make your heart flutter?

For the Font pairing, Google Fonts give suggestions on the left site of the chosen font page also

Search on the page "Popular Pairings with" https://fonts.google.com
