The old Weebly website building platform is now a legacy platform
I needed to change my plan recently and was confused by the plans on the "Pricing" page. I was informed by a customer service rep that all of the plans on the old Weebly platform are no longer available to new customers.
All new customers will be signing up on the new Square platform, a completely different website building platform that is not backwards compatible with the old Weebly structure. One cannot migrate a site from the old plans to the new ones.
This concerns me about the future support and stability of what has become a legacy platform. After Shopify bought Tictail, they killed it.
Can anyone reassure me about future plans for the old Weebly platform?

We don't have any specific information on plans for the older website editor, although I do know that there are no plans at this time to turn it off or "kill it". It's still possible to create a new account and use it as long as you choose the option that you "only want a website" / "don't want to sell" when signing up.

Hello, working on a clients website,
Is this still the case I would like to know in order to be sure I make a backup site not through Square however, I find the platform is horrible to build off of.

I tried to find the case with our support team where you asked about this, @12733, but I couldn't find anything newer than the 17th. Do you have a case number for the request?

Hi Adam, I gave up trying to get the real-time shipping to work correctly in the Business Plus plan, so I'm not persuing that escalated case anymore. I never heard from them. I downgraded back to the Business Plan, but was not given my old rate of $29 per month, which is such a bummer because I upgraded to a plan and could not get it to work properly (DHL would not give the right rates and support was not able to help). Thanks anyway, I'm so glad that they will continue to support website-only sites.

I wish it were this simple.
i signed up for a weebly account - just to add domains to my old weebly platform. But it apparently sucked me into the new platform. Tied to scottandrews805@yahoo.com. I want to have 5 new websites, with SSL and no Weebly branding, just use the old builder. Willing to pay ONE Pro pay plan for this, but the weebly pricing is now asking for PRO pricing for EACH WEBSITE> Sorry, you've entered into the world of robbery that GoDaddy, SquareSpace, and WIX play in and I can easily just start using a wordpress with a much cheaper domain hosting platform and accomplish more. I used Weebly for the simplicity of it all. You guys are ruining it! Please tell me it isn't true....
