Text tool bar hidden

Tonight, when trying to work on our site, the text tool bar kept vanishing. It simply does not show up. We have to log out and back in then we see it for a short time, then it disapears again.

Is something up with Weebly Servers?

You should have any trouble like that while editing your site, @LKnomad.  What happens if you navigate to another page in the editor, then navigate back?

Wow, I posted a reply from my phone yesterday and it didn't take. We did leave the page and come back. The tool bar did return temporarily but it went away again. We also started noticing that text we had deleted was returning and text we had added was disapearing. When we published nothing was changed. 

Then we switched browsers. All had been fine on Chrome, then it all stopped working. When we went to firefox, it started working again. Have no idea why Chrome stopped working. But now I do all my editing on Firefox.

All failed - all these upgrades - and no way to bring tool up?

From a software developer - this is not very smart by design.

Why no way to initiate this?  Simple failure in design.

If you're looking to see a button to bring up the text bar implemented, I'd definitely recommend bringing it up in the Feature Vote section. That way, you can get others in the Community to weigh in, and our team will be able to check it out there as well.

What do we do in the meantime? Still have a tool bar that disappears more often than not.

I figured out if you exit the website completely, and go back in then your toolbar will reappear! Your work should save, so that won't be an issue. Hope this helps.

I have this problem A LOT too. The exiting out of the website has worked to bring it back. With so many of us experiencing the same problem, shouldn't Weebly staff do something about it? I've lost a lot of time retyping my text blocks.

Hello kgchico! Losing text generally wouldn't be associated with the text editing bar not reappearing. When does the text disappear?

As one of the first users pointed out, closing out the editor with the X on the left hand side and editing my site again brings back the text toolbar to the same element I was just trying to edit. This brings it back for me almost every time. Thanks!

I am also having this problem. If I wait long enough and hop around the site, and click in and out of the text box enough, the text tool bar eventually shows up again. This is very annoying. I'm using Chrome and I don't think I should have to switch browsers, especially since you, yourselves, recommend Chrome.

This is happening to me, too and it's making me crazy!  I've tried opening and closing the pages, waiting a day, everything you mentioned, and nothing's working.  I have to finish this thing and I know exactly what I want to include but without the text toolbar I am helpless.  I see these posts have been going on for a few months so I don't know what to expect.  Probably that nothing will change.  Ugh.

Same story here. I would also be happy if there was a button to enable or disable editing options of the field.

I am fortunately not considering switching back to Wordpress/Joomla because Weebly is absolutely wonderful and I believe they will find a solution.

I faced the same problem too when i 'create the hyperlink', then press the button Tab. 

I stopped pressing Tab after that. Instead I click on the blank area. Never disappeared so far. Try!

Just happened to me too. Pretty big glitch, looks like.

This is but one small issue of many.  Done with Weebly.  Cant move text unless you use predefined spacers.  No Fonts.  Text Toolbar doesn't adjust text base on what I click.  Terrible.  Won't even try anything else.

Is your text pasted in from another source? Usually when changes made to the toolbar don't show up, it's because the pasted text has hidden code with it which overrides those changes.

No - it's on every page, even when I've done nothing to that page.

Hasn't happened to me before, but showed up this morning after I had uploaded a file on one page.  Suddenly no toolbar anywhere.

Hmm... it's probably best to start simple and go from there. Can you try clearing your browser cache and reloading to see if that helps?
