In the original post I included a link to the website, one can see the black box there.
But here I include an additional picture showing how it looks like in the Weebly online editor. I cannot delete that black textbox. It is empty, but keeps showing as a black box covering part of the background image of the header.

@demografi This is happening because the banner text containers both have a black background. The two banner text containers are the site title element (h2 tag) and the sub-title element (p tag). You've added your logo as a background image in the banner zone rather than as a foreground image contained in the banner container zone (where the title and text elements currently reside). You simply need to delete both text elements in the banner zone. In the Site Editor, hover over the black boxes and you should see the blue element outline with the red "x" in the upper-right corner of the outline box. Click the "x" to delete each text box. I would normally not place a logo as a background image within a section, however, yours appears to be behaving responsively in this particular theme. (The normal way to handle banner zone content is to place the content in the foreground so your logo would normally be placed in an image element placed within the banner container zone.)

Thanks for your help.
Unfortunatelly I am still not able to delete the black box. When I hover over the logo or the black box (or anywhere in the header), no "x" shows. What shows is the orange button "edit image". See this picture:
When I hover over the header logo and black text box.
An "x" shows when I hover over other elements though. As the text below the header. See the image below:
Here I see an "x"
I don't know what I am doing wrong. Could you advise? Thanks in advance.

@demografi Hmmm, that's curious. Let's try another approach. Your page is likely using the "Header" page type. The Header page type includes a banner section at the top of the page which typically includes the banner title and sub-title text boxes. I can't say why you're not able to remove these from the banner zone but there is a way to avoid the text boxes entirely: switch the page type from Header to "No Header." In the Site Editor, click "Pages" in the top menu bar, click your home page in the pages button stack in the left-hand sidebar, click "SEO Settings" and then change the "Header Type" from "Header" to "No Header." Now, your page will lose your banner but that's fine, we'll put it back using a regular section. Click "Build" in the top menu bar then drag and drop a Section element to the top of the page. Add your logo as the background to that element as you did with the original banner section. (Note, if you can't add the new section to the top of the page, just add it below the first section in your page and then click the new section and select "Move" to move it up.)
