Pictures have disappeared

Help! I've just logged into my website and the majority of pictures have disappeared. It's happened randomly across backgrounds, galleries and single pictures.

Is there a fault on Weebly? My site looks a mess!

The same thing happened to me on my site. Now they are appearing again, but now I am trying to edit my site and cannot upload a picture. What's that all about?!

Sorry for the trouble, guys. There was a temporary issue earlier this morning that has since been resolved by our Operations team. Everything should be working much better now!

Dear Adam,

I have the same problem that since I have like 100 posts, weebly changes my pictures randomly. It really sucks cause my posts refer to the pictures. What can I do against it?

Do your images have the same name, @fheiler? We retain the filename of an image after uploading, so if you upload an image with the same name you'll see unexpected results.

Hi Adam,

I have the same issue. I've had a site for many years with a lot of galleries of photos and then they disappeared about 6 months ago. I contacted Weebly help  months ago and they suggested it was because they had similar file names but they didn't actually. I name all the files with the title of the artwork and medium and so on so they are all different as paintings can't have the same title. The customer service rep then showed me file names that didn't even belong to this site but were-- I believe-- from another site that I used to have on my account, but transferred out. Question is, did the data bases get amalgamated from all my many sites into one data base? 

I'm slowly putting the images back but you can see  the issue if you go to my site lisajohnsonart.ca and click on some of the different pages.  I've restored the front page and some galleries, but you'll still see the issue if you go to the Footer menu and click "figurative" art", or "archives" or "drawings" .  (I hid them from main menu fyi)
