OLD SITE EDITOR

Greetings,

i've used weebly sine 2018. However, the newest site ediot upgrade doesn't work for me as a graphic designer or for my clients. you cant even edit the mobile view. I seriously need help vor i have no choice but to withdraw my business. It's totally an incovivence you hardly can edit anything or allow it to be equally porportioned. Is there a way i can swicth my accounts to the old editor?

Hello,

Funny enough, I JUST wrote an article on my website on how to revert from the new limited Weebly editor to the original Weebly dark themed drag and drop one.

Here it is: https://www.theweeblyguide.com/courses/does-your-weebly-editor-look-different-heres-why

I completely agree with you. I make websites for clients too and the original Weebly editor is MUCH better. Good thing is Weebly is still keeping it around.

Cheers! Let me know if you have any other questions.

I'll try and do what you suggest. But the problem is that I signed up for a 2 years package Weebly pro on the first account. How can I transfer it to the second account once I open it?

Hi @Bernadette, if we create new account and select a website only (Original Dark Editor),

1. This means original editor will retain even we upgrade to Business Plan?

2. The created website will still available after upgrade?

3. This editor also support Online Store?

Hi there. The older editor does not have as many integrated ecom features as the new editor. Yes, if you sign up for a new account and choose the option that says you are "not selling" you will receive the old editor. The editor and site will remain in the account even if you upgrade to a paid hosting plan.

@Bernadette can you give some more information about what new ecomm features are on the new editor, and the benefits? I am managing an 'old editor' site, which is much easier to manage/update but they want to add ecomm. I've also just set up a shop on the new editor, the 'design' functionality is very limiting. I'm trying to work out if I should switch to the new editor, or move the new site to the old. But want the best/most secure option for my clients. Thanks

Thanks for reaching out, @MelGee I can definitely agree that the new editor is limited, but I find the more I work with it, the more it makes sense. It was definitely a shock when we first launched (from an editing standpoint). What type of ecom features does your client need? The new editor has better social seo integration and can also integrate with Facebook/Instagram shopping. The new platform also allows you to setup a delivery option for fulfillment which is super important these days. I think the older editor still has its advantages, but again, it really depends on the business needs.

Hi Bernadette - can you talk me through, step-by-step, how to create a new account so that I can revert to the blog/old editor view please?  How do I create a brand new account without losing the link to my domain name (purchase through Weebly)?

Many thanks,

Hi @she31life Someone on this thread made an awesome blog post explaining how to create a new account. You will need to use a different email when signing up, and the most important step is to choose the option that you are not selling at this time. Once you create the new account, log back in here with your current login (for @she31life) letting us know you are ready for us to move your domain and hosting plan.

@Adam - can you please help me?

Since signing up for Weebly, support has been remarkably absent. I was a Weebly customer 3 years ago and the support was brilliant! What has happened??

My fees have been taken from my account but no one is here to help me get set up.

I'm having to consider cancelling and going elsewhere... I don't want to do that.

Do you still need help with this? @she31life It looks like you responded to my last post when I was out for the weekend, and then Adam responded to your other post HERE. I'm not sure if you saw his last reply, though.
