Not Fair Weebly, Just Not Fair

My cat rescue (http://www.howardcountycats.org) has had a free Weebly website for years. I have some sites I pay for, so Weebly is getting some money from me! One of the services my rescue provides is courtesy listings for people who want to rehome their cats. We have a form that we ask people to fill out (http://www.howardcountycats.org/courtesy-post-form.html).

Until recently, people were able to upload a picture of their cat. But uploading files is apparently a premium element now, and the field where people could upload a picture has disappeared from our form.

I'm beyond furious about this, and I don't know what to do. Many of the people who want to give up their cats are just lazy and/or mean. But for many others, it's a difficult and painful decision. And to ask them to take an additional step by sending us a picture separately is just not fair.

We're a very small rescue, and we can't afford to pay for a website. We need every penny we take in to feed the cats in our cage-free, no-kill shelter and pay for their medical care. And no, I'm not sharing our donors' money with Weebly! Sorry to vent here, but I'm just so angry about this. And some notice that things were changing would have been really nice!

Hi Catswriter,

I love the cause your site is for! Sounds like you had the form option on there before and then it disappeared? If that's the case, then I believe you should have been grandfathered in to have it. Give me 24 hours and I will check on this when I get into the office at Weebly tomorrow.

The form is still there, but the option to upload a picture of the cat is gone, so people have to send pictues separately. So far, they don't! We have to write and ask for a picture. If there's something to do about that, that would be wonderful. Thank you!

Never heard any more about this. Is there a way to grandfather us in? Not being able to upload a picture with the form is causing confusion and extra work for us.

I was thinking about putting the form on one of my paid sites, but suddenly going from the Howard County Cat Club to Pampered Pets Cat Sitting or How To Live With Cats.com would cause even more confusion. I would really appreciate some help with this. We're a very small rescue and can't afford to pay for website.

catwriter, my best suggestion would be to utlize a third party form, perhaps explore Google's forms (which you would include using our Embed Code element) or the App Center for free or inexpensive providers.

Is there an app for making a form? I'll have to look. But Weebly really shouldn't take features away without at least some warning. People count on things, and then they disappear. That doesn't make people want to say nice things about Weebly or recommend it. Thanks for the answer.

There is a form app. but you have to pay for people to be able to upload pictures. We can't afford $3 month. This is a slow time for my business, and it might be a good time to move all of my sites someplace else.

To update this: If I send in our nonprofit paperwork, POWr will give us a free upgrade so people can upload pictures of their cats. Something to think about for all the small nonprofits that have sites with you, Weebly.
